Mansfield Holiday Inn-2 weddings at the same time?

Hi ladies,

We are 99% sure we are booking the Mansfield Holiday Inn November 3, 2012 but I wanted to see if anyone has any reviews-good or bad.Their prices are very reasonable and we love the courtyard area. The one thing I am a little nervous about is that there will be another function going on at the same time....has anyone had this happen on their wedding? They assure me it happens all the time and there has never been any complaints so I am really hoping thats the truth!

Thanks for any input you can give ladies!

  • I'm not sure about your venue, but my venue is the Westford Regency and they can have up to 3 weddings on any given day. I was assured that the do it every weekend in the summer months and that their staff can handle it. Seeing how it's been done so often, I have complete faith in my venue that everything will go smoothly.

  • I went to a wedding at the Mansfield Holiday Inn last summer. There were three weddings going on at the same time. Everything went smoothly, it seemed to me, except for the fact that you could hear what was going on in the room next to us. Maybe the music was too loud or whatever but we definitely heard their introductions while we were eating. The staff seemed just fine though and everything was taken care of on time.
  • thank you for the feedback. I have been assured that the DJs will set up away from the split wall so we shouldnt hear everything going on... and they are carpeting the wall as well for more sound proofing so hopefully it won't be too bad. Glad to hear everything went smoothly though! thanks.
  • We are getting married there in October of 2012 and have heard nothing but good things from other couples who have gotten married there. They really have gone out of their way to make sure that we will be happy on our day. I know that with most venues if there's more than one event at the same time that you can hear the other party so that is not really something that swayed us. But I would think that the staff will try to help with that as much as possible!
    Good Luck!!
  • Congratulations kvcarter! I am glad to hear they are making sure your day is perfect! So far Tom has been wonderful. Are you doing package or non package? Who are you using for DJ? I am going to meet with DJ Sonny next week but also looking into Entertainment Specialists-both on their vendor list.
    Thanks for any insight :)
  • Congratulations to you too! Because Tom is so great to work with we are doing a partial package- we are using a different florist and bakery but are using Entertainment specialists and some of the other extras. We went with the Black Opal in North Attleboro for a florist and SweetWorks in North Attleboro for the cake. All the vendors that are part of the package are great though- we just felt a need to use smaller vendors for these few areas. Do you know where you're having your rehearsal dinner? that's our next thing on the to -do list but can't quite figure out where would be best
  • We are still looking into all our vendors. Our ceremony will be in Quincy so our rehersal dinner will be somewhere in that area. I'm not that familiar with Mansfield/Attleboro area so I wouldnt know where to recommend. So many decisions to make, its crazy! Who are you using from Ent Specialists?
  • I went to my cousins wedding there, and all of the tables that were along the petition wall could hear the DJ from the wedding in the next room.  My cousin was assured that the DJ's would be on opposite sides of the room, and the DJ for the other venue was set up against the petition wall.  I was sitting at one of those tables and it wasn't good.  We could hear a mix of the DJ from my cousins wedding and the DJ from the other wedding.  My cousin went over to complain and was told they would turn the volume down and they never did.  Just be firm that you want to make sure the DJ from the other wedding is at the complete opposite end of the room, or it won't be enjoyable for your guests against that wall.
