Special Event Beauty Question

Hey girls,

I really want to get ready at my house and have ready so many good things about special event beauty.  I have contacted them and they do have one slot available for my wedding.  However, it looks like it will cost $250 for my hair and makeup and $170 for my BM's?  This seems very expensive.  I have not looked into any other companies that come to the house.  Is this what I should expect to pay?  Does anybody suggest another company?

Thanks!

I tried "I do" and I am finding the same thing...very high in cost.  I also tried Paula's Hair and Spa in Beverly and they want $165 for bridal hair and makeup trial!  Same price for the wedding day....Scares me to death.

I am an SEB bride, and I loved them. How many people do you have getting hair/make-up? They offer a discount for groups of a certain number.

Personally hair and make-up was not an area that I wanted to save money on- it will be in all your pictures afterall!

SEB prices are comparable to the well-known MUA/hair who travel to your home, but there are definitely cheaper ones too, but remember they include airbrush and fake lashes (which some charge extra for).

You can search old posts and find other recs too though.

I haven't even used them yet but the response of rec's has been so positive that I'm willing to pay the price. I'm looking forward to my trial in a few months. I know it can be steep but I agree you don't want to cheap out on your beauty things since you'll want to look your best on your wedding day.  I would take the slot since it's last one but also take the time to call around. Their prices are very comparable to others. I shopped around and felt the same way you did. The more people you have I know you can get a discount as well. Good luck.

I'm another SEB bride and they are worth the money. I researched and found their prices to be very competitive. Some other companies may be cheaper on your wedding day but they charge much more for the trials. SEB only charges $40 per service for trials.

As pp mentioned, they offer a discount for parties of 5 or more. I think it's $10 off the service.

I worked with Kerry and Marianne and would highly recommend them both!

You guys are right.  Based on their reviews they sound amazing and it is definitely not a place I would want to cut.  So I just need to schedule a trial....how far before your wedding did you guys do this?  My wedding is in August?

I had my trial in September '09 for my June '10 wedding. I did mine early since I was deciding between them and another vendor. I'm also wicked Type A and I wanted that booked early. :o

I had my trial with them in January for my May wedding.  Worth every penny!

I used SEB (Kerry and Maryanne) for my August wedding.  I think my trial was in Aprilish...it was a great expierence.  They were even early the day of my wedding and were not in a rush to leave so it was not stressful at all!!!
