Jill for Make Up

For those of you who suggested Jill from JK Flashy for makeup... Did you all actually have Jill herself do your make up on the day of your wedding? I called her and she told  me that she is booked like two years ahead of time. So I was just wondering if everyone who was recommending her specifically used her or if anyone sused someone else from her studio and what you thought?

I'm specifically using Jill for my April '11 wedding. I booked her in January/Feb. Her company is expanding and she is huge in the area, so I guess she books up really fast now. I'm sure the others who work for her are great as well, but you can always find out at a trial. GL.

I talk to Jill on a weekly basis, just talked to her this morning. If you have enough people for makeup, she brings an assistant. I'm almost positive that she works on every bride because she originally did their trial and has a relationship with them. She just expanded out to Miami and she's one of the two makeup artists on this board that the girls will reccomend. For the record, I will tell you that anyone Jill has on staff is very professional, and knowing her as a person, she wouldn't expect anything less.

I agree with Jamie about this. You can always ask her if she has your date already booked. That is a good way to know.

I have a trial set up with both Jill and Christine for next month. I just wasn't 100% thrilled about Jill not being the one to do my make up the day of when all of the recommendations were for her not her staff. I figure once I meet with both of them I will know what I feel most comfortable with. Thanks for the info ladies!

Enjoy your trials! Hopefully both will be available the date of your wedding!

And if they aren't available, you could always see if their top assistant is and see if you could get a trial with them. (And you never know, they might even be less money)

FWIW - There are other makeup artists around. Yes, J & C do get recommended the most, but often there are more than just two brides that get married in the Hudson Valley on a given day. Your wedding will still be beautiful and you will still be a radiant bride, even if it's not Jill or Christine who does your makeup for that day.

    GL!

I actually just had my trial with Jill today. She will be doing my makeup for my July 3, 2011 wedding.  She did an amazing job. She takes such provide and has such a passion for what she does that i can only imagine that she would have an amazing staff.  I highly recommend her =)

My wedding is on July 3rd of next year as well. That explains why she offered one of her staff members...

I had one of Jill's assistants, Christina, do my makeup trial- and she'll be doing my October wedding- and I honestly could not tell the difference between her and Jill's work. They both did amazing jobs (Jill did my BPics makeup). Schedule a trial as soon as possible with whoever is available on your date, especially since it's free so even if you don't like it you didn't lose anything.
