Harding Allen Estate

Has anyone been at a wedding or had a wedding at the Harding Allen Estate? I looked at it this past weekend and thought it was beautiful. But if anyone has any opinions positive/negative it would be very helpful in my decision. Thanks so much!!

That was on my original short list as well - it's so beautiful there!

What deterred us was a) being kind of in the middle of nowhere, and not really having any ties to that area other than we thought it was a pretty venue, we didn't necessarily want to ask everyone to drive out there; and b) along the same lines, it wasn't very close to hotels, and we needed a lot of sleeping rooms.

That's really all I know about it - I hope it works out for you, though! It's gorgeous! I just love the ballroom ceiling with its indoor/outdoor feel...GL!

I highly recommend the Harding Allen Estate.  As a makeup artist, I have worked with many brides who have had their weddings there, and all of them have had nothing but wonderful things to say about the place.  I've been there myself while on the job, and it is just a beautiful venue.  For an outdoor wedding, it is one of my favorites in the area.  The only reason I didn't get married there myself is because I had a Christmas wedding, and to me, the grounds are really what make the Harding Allen so amazing.  My brides have told me the staff there are great to work with.  Only downside, as stated above, is that Barre is a very small town with few amenities, so if you have guests who are going to need a place to stay overnight, they may have to stay a couple towns over.

My cousin had her wedding there...It was GORGEOUS!!! The food was good too, though that may be totally separate, since you may have to hire your own caterer. The ceremony area was beautiful, and the tent reception was really nice!

The only Negative, was that it was SUCH a long ride out there.

It's really up to you...if you don't think your guests would mind the drive, go for it! They do a fantastic job, and it is a BEAUTIFUL place to get married. Another place you might consider, that I'd say is on the same level, is the Crane Estate in Ipswitch. Depending on where you live, it may be a LOT closer to have it there, and still get that same kind of a wedding.

    Good luck!
