Bridal Shower Theme?

Hi all! When planning a wedding shower, does the theme of the shower have to match the theme of the wedding? Our theme for the wedding is cherry blossoms, with our colors mocha, ivory, and pink. We are having our shower outdoors  at my FI's parents' house and also want to incorporate men and women. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

    Theme doesn't have to match.  But you should leave the planning to the hosts of the party.

    Nope, the theme of the shower does not have to match the theme of the wedding at all.  We got married in the fall in MA, we live in Los Angeles CA and I work in Hollywood.  My bridesmaids and mom threw me a Hollywood Love Story themed shower...it was AWESOME!
