We Need a Venue--Any Ideas?

Hello Boston Knotties,

We are looking for a venue to host a Sunday late morning ceremony and lunch reception, preferably in the city and preferably with a view of the city. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

The Seaport is beautiful and they have several different room options.

The Hyatt Harborside is a really nice hotel and does gorgeous weddings with a beautiful view of Boston harbor.

Ooh, I hadn't thought of this one. Thank you!

Hampshire House on Beacon Hill would be really nice for a small wedding brunch. It's right by the Public Gardens so that would be a nice view.

I'll second Hyatt Harborside. We're getting married there in March and the view is amazing. I think I remember them telling me that they give 10% off discounts on Sundays.

How many people? What is your budget? Any other details (parking, OOT guests, food types, etc).

Wherever you look, try to negotiate, for at least 15% off, or more!

I loved the Lighthouse Room at the Seaport--- I only wish we could fit our wedding guests into it....

    I highly recommend Seaport!

Oh also Taj Boston has a really cool roof top that can hold 120 max (I think).  It has windows on all sides giving a great view of the city.

What about the Cambridge Hyatt? They have a great view of the city. Also- if you want a view of the city, you might be better off on the outskirts of the city.

I have heard the Holiday Inn on Beacon Hill has a nice view. The Omni Parker as well. of course the best view is the State Room, but it gets mxed reviews due to their way of pricing.

We just got married at the Millennium Bostonian two weeks ago. The ballroom has a greenhouse style roof so you can see downtown Boston. We used the same room for ceremony and reception, moving to the foyer for cocktails.

We had a dinner reception and hosted breakfast - food was amazing at both so I'm sure lunch would be great too. Pricing was affordable for the area and I think they offer a 10% Sunday discount.

Highly recommend the Seaport Hotel.  We had our wedding there and have nothing but amazing things to say about the venue, the staff, and the location.  You can read my review in my bio (under Vendor Reviews) and if you want you can check out some pics in my bio too (either under Reception, in our slideshow - link in siggy, or in our album proof - link by photographer's review in bio).  Here's the website

Other places we looked at with city views but ultimately didn't go with either for cost, general vibe we got from our visit, or decor were:
    State Room
Hyatt in Cambridge on Memorial Drive
    Boston Harbor Hotel
    Royal Sonesta in Cambridge

The Taj has a nice rooftop view. The other one with the rooftop is the Omni hotel right downtown. Hampshire House is right on the Boston Common or Boston Garden and has nice views if you head outside.
