tasting!

Last night we had our tasting at Tapeo.  OMG, the food there is sooooo delicious!  We met with their event planner & the owner.  We got to try anything we wanted on the menu.  They just keep bringing us more & more tapas!  I am a big eater & love food, so it was awesome.    FI & I were there for almost 2 hours.  We took our notes home to try to make some final decisions...so hard tho!  The food there is so good!    YAY!!!  So excited to be getting so close!

well, since it's tapas, we get a ton of choices!  These are the things I *think* we're getting--or at least leaning towards...(let's see how good I am at remembering them w/o looking at a menu

Cocktail Hour:
prunes filled with goat cheese & wrapped in bacon
califlower & broccoli puffs (basically a fried ball of veggies with spices)
sliced grilled Spanish sausage (pork)

Dinner:
baskets of bread with a Spanish version of hummus spread
sauted portobello mushrooms
potatoes with aioli
goat cheese with honey & sweet onions (the cheese is fried!)
antipasto type platter with cheese, marinated olives, & cured ham
pork tenderloin with mushroom & goat cheese topping
chicken croquettes with carrot sauce
lobster ravioli
scallops in saffron cream
beef with pimentos on toast

Dessert (we aren't doing a wedding cake):
flan
flourless chocolate cake with a cream & berry sauce
almond cake

We will have open bar all night (5 hours!), plus they have coffees to go with dessert. 

And they told us that if there are any special requests, we can order them off the menu (like if someone has dietary restrictions, or someone who's vegetarian wants another veggie option)--FI has already requested that our table get their quail stuffed with grapes & bacon   It's his favorite!

The fried cheese balls there are amazing!!! Also love the pork tenderloin with goat cheese. Have you tried the duck?? That is great as well. Glad I'm going to Dali this weekend because your post just made me crave it!

OH, and vtbm, Dali is owned by the dad of the owner of Tapeo   It's another one of my favs!!!!!!!!!

So...I feel extremely uncultured at this moment...I have no idea what tapas are...but everything sounds fancy and delish!

Tapeo is one of my fav restaurants for a night out with the girls, I am so jealous that you get to have your weding there! It all sounds delish!! Who doesn't like Tapas?
And not sure if it's still around but Cuchi Cuchi was some relative to Dali right? had a great night there with friends a while back.
Mmmm - hungry now.
I would be going back for extra tastings if I were you

jonnysbride: tapas is a Spanish meal of appetizers.  So at a tapas restaurant you order lots of little plates of tapas & share amongst everyone at the table.  Spanish food is related to Italian food, and sooo good!  You should definitely try it out!  My favorite restaurant around here is Solea, which is actually the sister restaurant of Tapeo in Waltham (on Moody Street).  I also love Tapeo (obviously!), Dali, and Tasca (they have really good coupons/specials).
