Ceremony/Cocktail hour musician recommendations

FI and I are wondering if anyone else had ceremony and cocktail hour musicians that they would be willing to recommend and what they charged, if you don't mind. I'm looking for a pianist, strings trio/quartet, floutist, harpist, and/or guitarist, but preferably no brass.

The wedding is in 2 months. We had someone else that was going to do it, but he's been a little unreliable, and I don't want to have to fall back on a DJ. Not that there's anything wrong with a DJ doing the music; I just would really prefer live musicians if I can find someone else. Thanks so much!

I'm in the process now of researching this for our wedding and I went to gigmasters.com and got a lot of great recommendations for musicians. They follow up with a price quote and links to their site. So far for 2 to 2 and half hours I'm finding $800 for a quartet, some less, depends on what you want.

go to gigmasters.com and fill out a request. If anyone is available they'll respond. It's a great service- I found the International String Trio there and was very happy with their work.

We are having a harpist, Nancy Hurrell. We are using her for 2 hours (ceremony and cockatil hour) and she is charging us $400.

We hired our strings trio from the Copley Chamber Players. They charged us $450 to preform at our ceremony and cocktail hour- 2 hours. I highly recommend them!

Thanks everyone. I'll put in a requet to gigmasters today, and look up the Copley Chamber Players, too. I love string trios.

We have a pianist for the cocktail hour. Curtis Jones, aka, "CJ the Piano Man"

    http://www.cjthepianoman.com/

He quoted us $100 for playing our cocktail hour, which I thought was pretty good.

we heard him playing at our food tasting at Nashawtuc Country Club, and he was great...constant playing, very fluid, one song right into the next, and was very nice to listen to. He's very good with communication, and his email and phone are listed on his website.

    Good Luck!
    Mr. and Mrs. Sharkdiver!

You could also try contacting the music department of any of the colleges around here.  Not just music schools, either.  My school regularly got requests for wedding musicians, and we students were always eager at the prospect of a little extra income.

I recommend David Spatola. He played the cocktail hour at my wedding and he was a pro. Great chops!....

Call him. He is from the East Brunswick area in New Jersey
