Bachelorette Party Ideas

Hi -

Looking for an area like Plymouth or Boston where there are a lot of different bars you can walk to and a hotel you can stay at - would like to avoid driving once we are there.

Any ideas?  People have mentioned Newport, RI and Hyannis.  I don't know anything about either of these please.  Any hotels within walking distance to the "Main Streets" of either of these places?

Thanks!

Newport, RI is awesome!  In my opinion it's the perfect place for a Bach/girls weekend.  Thames St. is the "main st." and there are a ton of cute shops, bars, restaurants & a number of hotels within walking distance.  There are beaches just a short drive away.  There are also a few vineyards just outside of Newport which can be fun stop on the way there.  I've stayed at The Newport Bay Club which is right on Thames and in the middle of everything.  The rooms are nice and can be spacious.  The only thing to keep in mind is that Newport hotels book up quickly for the summer months, can be pricey and almost always require a 2 night minimum.  It's a really great place though and can be tons of fun!

Provincetown is another great idea for locations.  Its a lot of fun, and GREAT people watching.

You can't go wrong with downtown Boston.

Newport is great fun as well.  I think you can find more deals in boston though, when it comes to hotels and not having minimum stays.

I'd skip plymouth - there isn't much of a night life there.  Its definitely more family and daytime.  (at least in my opinion...  I love it there, but would never think of going there to party)

I had a great time out in Worcester for my bachelorette a few weeks ago.  (granted a bit of nostalgia was in play for me, as that is where I went to college.  But the bars can be fun and there are some great restaurants and its a bit cheaper than Boston)

I'm from the cape originally (where Hyannis is located).  There are a few hotels in the main street area.  I would just google it.  There are a lot of bars to check out and a "club" which is not like a club in Boston called Embargo.  Everything is in walking distance.  If you do go to Hyannis, just stay away from Pufferbellies.

Providence, RI is awesome! If you stay at the Biltmore, you're in the heart of the city. The mall is within walking distance as is Westminster St., with a few good restaurants and several bars in that general area.

I grew up a few towns west of Plymouth. There isn't an awesome nightlife there. It's very much a tourist day-trip kind of town.

Are you looking to stay south of the city?

If not, what about Salem???  There are two hotels in downtown Salem and there are plenty of bars all within walking distance: O'Neill's, Rockafella's, etc., plus some really cool and very yummy restaurants!  Worth looking into!

I second the Salem idea - I live downtown Salem and the bars are great - the perfect set up for a pub crawl and during the day their are tons of shops  and stuff for poking around in.
