Addressing STD question

Hi Guys!  I'm about to send out Save the Dates (assuming they finally come from Vistaprint!!) and I have a question.  I am inviting a bunch of coworkers with their significant others.  But many don't live together.  I wouldn't invite their guests if they couldn't come and I feel weird sending them their own invitation.  Is it weird if I sent the invitation with both names on it just ot the coworker?  I know that's not what you are supposed to do.  What did you guys do in this type of situation?  TIA!

I don't think thats weird at all. In fact before fi and I moved in together thats always how invitations were sent... either to my place with his name also on it or to his place with my name on it.

I think that it is not "technically" correct to do it this way but that is what we did because honestly the people you are sending these to will not care.  I wrote the name of my friend first and then on the second line put their guests name.

If this was for invitations and you have an inner envelope, you would just put your friend's name on the mailing envelope and then both names on the inner envelope.

I added both names and sent it to the friend's addy.  Like if I was friends with John, I'd use his addy and do:

    John Smith
    Jane Doe
    123 Main St
    Town, ST ZIP00

Just don't put an "and" or "&"--that indicates married.

Only 1 person commented on this.  My friend's gf (who is a bit of a self-proclaimed commitment phobe) was like, "WHOA!"  But even she said she understood ;)

Congrats on almost getting the STDs out!

Thanks guys!  This makes me feel better!  What about if the couple is engaged, do you put the "&" or not until they are officially married?

Well, I thought our STDs were coming today, but now the shipping says WED!!!  I'm so bummed!  I really want to get them out!  Stupid Vistaprint... love their stuff and their pricing, but their shipping STINKS!  We paid $17 for the "standard" shipping and we're going on 10 days.  Seriously, for $4 they could have send it USPS and I'd have gotten it in like 3 days.  Their shipping is a racket!!

Right.  Only use the "&" if they are married (not if they are engaged)--although, honestly, I doubt most people would even notice this (or know what's "correct")....hahaha :)

GL and that stinks about the shipping.  I hate when places charge so much for shipping, esp when I KNOW it doesn't cost as much as they are charging.
