I 'm meeting with my caterer tomorrow. Are there certain questions I should ask besides trying the food!? lol  My FI is pretty excited about this and the cake tasting lol.

Ask them what they do on the actual wedding day and if you need a day of coordinator.  A lot of caterers won't facilitate the flow of the day

Our venue is doing all the catering, so it was a little easier. But a few questions that we've asked where
whether they have kid's menu (if you plan on having children at your wedding),
how does the price work when you give your guests a choice of beef/chicken (some places just take the higher number, while some count the amounts for each type of course separately).
The other thing that you might be interested in is whether they would tweak the menu for you, for example if there are any dishes that you would love to have but they are not on the official menu, would the vendor be willing to prepare them for you?
And also make sure to go over the payment schedule and what type of payments they take.

You should ask them if they are familar with your venue, and if they are not, what will they do beforehand to make sure things run smoothly on the wedding day?  Will they be in in contact with the venue beforehand to get a lay of the land?  I am just thinking that you wouldn't want them to show up and have no idea where specific things are that they need.
