Save the Dates

Hello!

How soon should you send out save the dates? My wedding is next May of 2012.  I am thinking of sending out the magnets, does anyone have any suggestions?

    I've heard anywhere between 6-12 months is acceptable. We sent ours out with 9 months to go.

    i got married in july 2010 and sent my save the dates out september of 2009.. so 10 months before!

    I sent mine out 10 months before.  If it is a holiday weekend, destination wedding  or you have  a lot of OOT guests, I think a year is good. The more notice you can give the guests, the better.

    We sent ours out 11 months before, but we had a lot of guests coming in from out of town.

    I sent mine out 12months in advance.  DH's family was from OOT, and I was just anxious! :)

    I think you could send them pretty early... we sent ours early to make sure everyone will be there!!  By the time you order the magnets and get the addresses together to mail them, it will be just the right time to be sending them out :)
