help me pick my date;)

The dates I have to choose from in the months that I want are:
May 5th
September 8th, 15th and 22nd

I'm scared that May 5th it might still be rainy and soggy from April
And September 22nd might be chilly.

Which would you choose?

I would choose september 22nd. My friend was married on Sept 25th and it was a beautiful day. The temperature was around 70 and her ceremony was outside. It was absolutely perfect. I would stay away from May, mainly because there are always a lot of graduation parties, proms etc so it could be tougher to get the places you would like. Where are you thinking?

I have the place I want narrowed down.  Its just a matter of picking which date they are available that correspond with the DJ I want.  It will be in NH on the water now so I'm just nervous I guess.

I think I'd do one of hte early Sept ones.  I feel like September generally has better weather than May (less chance of rain).  I've been to a lot of September weddings and they almost always have beautiful waether.  I think you could even do the 22nd, but more likely it will be cooler.  My sister got married on 9/24 and she got a gorgeous sunny day, but it was like 55 deg, so not super warm.

The only other thing to think about is that Sept is becoming very popular in this area.  My photog was booked for all of Sept 2011 first.  The summer is actually getting less popular!  So you might need to start booking your other vendors asap.

    Good luck!!

Thanks girls for backing me on the Sept.  Everyone else wants May except for me.
I think I'll call them both and put a hold on the 8th :)  If FI lets me lol.

I would choose one in Sept, probably the 15th or 22nd, since parents get busy with kids going to school the first week.

I agree with megandjay and would pick either the 15th or the 22nd.  I know my sister is always crazy with her kids during the first week of school.

I was married this past September 18th and it was such a beautiful day! So i vote for September any of the dates

I would go with either 9/15 or 9/22. 9/8 has Labor Day and school starting around it and both of those can get busy for folks.

Good luck with your choice! :o)

I think you will have better weather in September than in May. May is still very chilly but warm evenings can still go through september. Good luck!

anytime in Sept is nice. My friend got married mid september a couple years ago and we actually have 85 degree weather and were sweating the whole time. You take a chance with weather no matter what day you pick unfortunately.

I also vote Sept ... not only because it's the month I picked ... but there are a ton of reasons ...

Humidity & Weather #1 - Sept is just amazing weather wise and more predictable than Spring in New England.  Also nights cool down to a nice temperature instead of those nasty sweaty June/July/August nights

Food - Late summer/ early fall is the start of harvest season and so much awesome produce is at it's prime

Flowers - While flowers might not be as abundant in the Spring or early summer, the blooms are still out and sept. blooms are so pretty!

Availability of People - Most people are plan their vacations during the summer, so it can be a nightmare for guests to be there.

IMPORTANT - try and avoid 3-day weekends ... while it's convenient for close relatives, it's a huge pain in the butt going to a wedding on a three day weekend.  People want to BBQ and camp not dress up and go to a wedding on Memorial Day weekend.
