Help with Paris Hotel? Where to Stay?

So I posted something on the HM board but I didn't get to many responses. I'm hoping someone can recommend where you stayed in Paris. Were ending our HM in Paris after spending 8 nights in Greece so looking for something not to expensive but nice. We know that we will never be back to Paris for a long time so want to make it the most memorable possible. I got a lot of rec of what to do but need more rec's for hotels.  I'm hoping you can help.  Cause I want to book our hotel soon. Thanks.

    Hi Tecah123!
What do you consider not too expensive?  And when is your HM?  Hotel Garamont Paris gets great reviews -- if you stay for 3 nights they have a package where you would only pay about $185/night.  If you are okay with waiting until booking 7 days or less before you get there (scary I know! and maybe not a possibility since you'll be in Greece) you can get a room for around $170/night!  Le Fabe Hotel also gets awesome reviews and have rates for as low as $130/night.  Hope this helps...if you need more suggestions, or need help planning your honeymoon please feel free to get in touch with me!!

Paris is  a relatively small city and easy to get around so you can stay just about anywhere.  Some neighborhoods are more scenic, obviously some are safer, some more "local" others  more touristy.

We like to stay in Montparnesse in the 14th.  It is a little outside the center but easy to get around (there is a direct RER line) We usually stay in apts.  For us one of the joys of Paris is walking out in the morning to get fresh pastries and picking up  wine and cheese for the evening.

Paris is a gorgeous city.  ENjoy it!!

Paris happens to be very close to my heart, since I lived there for a year in high school, and have been back more times than I count at this point.  It's like my second home! I'm going back next month for 2 weeks too.

I would reccomend staying in the latin quarter (the 4th/5th) it's right in the center of the city, walking distance to the seine, notre dame, and the louvre. It's also one of the older parts of the city, so the streets are narrow, and winding, and there is a lot of charm.   I don't know what your budget looks like, but I would reccomend the Hotel de Notre Dame on the Rue Maitre Albert.  It's quiet and cozy, but close to the heart of everything great about Paris and it's a mid-range price-point which is great.

Whatever you do, I would not reccomend staying near the eiffel tower.  Many people get sucked in thinking that's a great place to be, but in reality there aren't many cute cafes, or restaurants over there since it's populated mostly by the embassies, and it's far from the rest of the attractions.  I would also caution against the 18th, 19th, or 20th, it's hard to get anywhere else from there, bu defintiely make your way up to sacre coeur and montmartre at some point.
