New York-Hudson Valley

Casual wedding Rockland / Hudson Valley

We are just starting the process of trying to find a hall. We have looked at nyack seaport and are looking at patriot hills tonight. WE don't want a formal wedding, as we originally wanted a casual destination wedding in aruba. Due to family size, we can't do this so plan B is rockland. Any thoughts on a casual, yet nice place for about 150 people?

I was going to recommend Patriot Hills, but you're already going. Our reception was there last month and it was amazing. Maybe to keep it more casual, you could do the cocktail reception? I think they call it the reception of the new millennium or something like that.

Our wedding was at PH too and we loved it!  I agree with Kristin, if you're looking for a more relaxed atmosphere, the cocktail reception might be good for you.

Yeah we are doing the New Millenium package and are totally excited about it. It does cost the same as the sit down and buffet weddings packages but its a ton of food. You can def go etiher way with the reception room...fancy or low key.

I've heard nothing but great things about Patriot Hills.

My company's annual holiday party is at Casa Mia Manor House in Blauvelt.  They have excellent food and offered us a similar package such as the Millenium that PH offers.

Price is always an issue for our company, and year after year we're at Casa Mia ... so that's got to say something.

We booked at New York Country Club, in New Hempstead. We saw about 10 places, including Patriot Hill and Casa Mia and Bear Mountain Inn.  We decided on NYCC because they only have one wedding a day, and are located on a gorgeous golf course. They also had the best flexibility on minimum guest - no minimum exists. You tell them what you believe will come in, and that's what you are bound to.  Their chef is a guy that worked at Florentine gardens for some 7 years. I heard recommendations for FGs from three friends mostly for their food, so when I learned he has worked there at the time my friends went to the weddings, I knew NYCC was my pick.  They also negotiated the price down to what I wanted to pay.
