Friday Five

Well with the wedding and being in Europe for 3 weeks, I haven't gotten a chance to do our Friday Five in awhile. So here it is!

1.  If money was not an issue, how far would you choose to go in making your life green?

2.  Do you prefer your cookies to be soft and chewy, or crisp and crunchy?

3.  What was the last "snail mail" that you received that was significant?

4.  What job would you never want to have to do?

5.  Plans for the weekend?

    1.  If money was not an issue, how far would you choose to go in making your life green? I would buy all local and organic food. But more things made of out recycled material, including clothing. And possibly get solar panels for our house (that doesn't exist yet haha). I also learned about solar "panel" windows when I did an internship a few summers ago. Those would be awesome. And maybe live in the city so I could walk to work (if I had a job in the city)

    2.  Do you prefer your cookies to be soft and chewy, or crisp and crunchy? I like them to be slightly crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside.

    3.  What was the last "snail mail" that you received that was significant? Like really meaningful? Probably a card/letter from my best friend when I was in college. Or an Congrats on Being Engaged card from my Aunt ...she wrote like a book in it haha

    4.  What job would you never want to have to do? Clean up after people's....fluids/solids....or anything to do with blood/needles/anything gross

    5.  Plans for the weekend?
Working, hopefully Registering, and going to a 1st Communion/Birthday party

    1.  If money was not an issue, how far would you choose to go in making your life green? I would by a hybrid and move into an acutal house so I could have a fruit/veggie garden and put solar panels on my roof.

    2.  Do you prefer your cookies to be soft and chewy, or crisp and crunchy? soft and chewy with a glass of milk.

    3.  What was the last "snail mail" that you received that was significant? a wedding invitation.

    4.  What job would you never want to have to do? a nanny/babysitter/etc. children terrify me. FI reminds me I need to get over it because I do want to have kids.

    5.  Plans for the weekend? FI and I are going to see a show at the Omni tonight and then out for a drink. Saturday I'm going dress shopping. Sunday I'm hanging out with my moms family for Mother's Day.

    1.  If money was not an issue, how far would you choose to go in making your life green?

Buy all local food, ride my bike everywhere (this would mean getting in better shape = win/win), I would build a greenhouse into the side of our house like my uncles to grow plants and herbs and some veggies to improve the air quality, produce heat, and of course have homegrown food.

    2.  Do you prefer your cookies to be soft and chewy, or crisp and crunchy?

    Chewy all the way.

    3.  What was the last "snail mail" that you received that was significant?

A save the date designed like a Red Sox ticket, but a magnet. So cute!

    4.  What job would you never want to have to do?

Social work. I love volunteering but I don't know if I could do that kind of work every day. I would fall apart. I have mad respect for people who do it.

    5.  Plans for the weekend?

Tonight, hopefully a drink with my girl M&M after work. Tomorrow I have an event for work, then relaxing with H when he gets home and maybe barbecuing. Sunday, I have no idea, hopefully relaxing, doing some work and enjoying the day.

And Mandah, I have to add that last night went swimmingly, meeting BM's girlfriend. She was really sweet and we all got along well. It came nowhere near the hot mess I expected. I honestly thought this girl was going to be bad news for him, but my expectations were shattered and I'm very excited for them. :) I'll give you more deets later!

    1.  If money was not an issue, how far would you choose to go in making your life green? Honestly not that far.  I already walk or take public transportation most of the time, FI and I share a fuel efficient car, I buy locally grown as much as possible for economic reasons and neither of us are particularly wasteful.  My attitude toward the whole "green" thing is that i will do it when it doesn't cost me a ton of extra effort OR is more cost efficient (fuel efficient car, public transportation, better windows, etc.)   I just feel like being "green" is forced down my throat a bit, especially when I already have a small carbon footprint and don't feel the need to walk around and be self righteous about it.

I want to get a bike and plant a big garden when we have a house, but that's for my own enjoyment.

    2.  Do you prefer your cookies to be soft and chewy, or crisp and crunchy? Oooo depends on the cookie.  I love chewy chocolate chip (and now butterscotch potato chip thanks to LexiMS), but I also love me some ginger snaps!  And I appreciate a crunchy chocolate chip.

    3.  What was the last "snail mail" that you received that was significant? Birthday cards!

    4.  What job would you never want to have to do? Hmm anything where I had to touch someone or be anywhere near body fluids (of humans).  I wouldn't mind being a farmer these days.

    5.  Plans for the weekend? All my little wedding projects!

    1. I really want a biodiesel car. And I want a house whereI can have my own veggie garden. And I like solar panels.

    2. Soft and chewy!

    3. My new ATM card and license with my married name on it!

    4. Mortician

    5. Drinks and dinner with hubby. Meeting up with MIL for a bit too. Saturday, brunch with hubby (diet? what diet? I'm married now!), then who knows. Since I bought DH a new camera we might go out together to take some pictures (me using his old camera). Sunday we're going to a wedding on the opposite side of the state.

Shazz - I'm glad all went well! Hot messes - whilst funny, not as much when they are in your house

    1.  If money was not an issue, how far would you choose to go in making your life green?
Build a house with thermo heating pipes under it so the house would be a constant 60 degrees year round.  Solar panels for electricity.  Put gardens in the back fully equipped to keep critters out.  And only used recycled wood and metal to build the house.  And use a lot of concrete for countertops and what not.  I like very organic fixtures as well not the traditional knobs.  i like pull chains and waterfalls.
    2.  Do you prefer your cookies to be soft and chewy, or crisp and crunchy?
Soft and chewy is a must
    3.  What was the last "snail mail" that you received that was significant?
1year b-day party for my friends son.  He is the cutest little boy in the world
    4.  What job would you never want to have to do?
Sewer maintenance.  We had a sewer overflow into my store yesterday and I want to puke because they still are not done!
    5.  Plans for the weekend?
FI and his son will be working on our roof.  My plan is to hide my PMS'n self in my bedroom and sleep until I have to head home for Mothers Day.

    1.  If money was not an issue, how far would you choose to go in making your life green?
We try and live a fairly green lifestyle as it is - buying produce at farmers markets, not buying excess bottles and cans, sharing a car and trying to move away from our dependence on it even in LA (which is difficult), energy efficient building, bamboo accessories.  If money were not an issue - I would go back to veganism, definitely buy only local and organic, have a hybrid, buy/renovate a new house that is "green"

    2.  Do you prefer your cookies to be soft and chewy, or crisp and crunchy?soft and chewy

    3.  What was the last "snail mail" that you received that was significant? probably sympathy cards maybe? I will be receiving debit / credit cards in the mail soon because somehow on the bus today my wallet made it's way out of my bag.

    4.  What job would you never want to have to do? Receptionist - and no disrespect intended I'm just a very project oriented person and I like beginning and ends and know what was achieved vs. doing relatively the same thing everyday indefinitely

    5.  Plans for the weekend?  nothing big car is in the shop being fixed so we'll just be on foot and enjoying the weather and hopefully stopping by these great fruit vendors on the street

In other news: someone just found my wallet on the bus! and they work where I work soo happy!! of course after I cancelled my cards oh well.
