boston seaport hotel

How affordable is the Boston Seaport Hotel? Ball Park figure? Any hidden charges like gratuities, chairs, charges for venter set ups like flowers, etc.....It looks nice, but now in reading all about wedding packages I'm beginning to discover the "hidden  charges" at some venues. Any thoughts?

The cost is really dependent upon how many guests you are anticipating.  The Seaport packages are "per person".  There really aren't any hidden fees.  Gratuity/tax is included in the price, as are your choice of Chiavari chairs.

I had my wedding at the Seaport and I can guarantee that there are no hidden fees anywhere in their packages.  The price per person is exactly what you pay (tax and gratuity included).  The hotel also has a no-tipping policy, ranging from the valet to the bellhop to the bartenders, so it really is all included.  No extra money for that.  The only extra charges would be if you chose to not use their in house chairs, linens, dinnerware, etc.  You'd have to rent those, so that's extra.  We thought their house stuff was more than fine - you can check out pics in my bio under Reception if you want to see what it looked like.  We looked at a number of places in Boston and found the Seaport to be comparable if not cheaper than some of the other big names.  Some places seemed cheaper at first glance, but once you added tax, tip, admin fees, etc. they ended up being more.  The difference may have been more so because they gave us a great deal for a Friday wedding, but honestly it was worth it.  They also gave us the best deal for rooms (only place to offer less than $200 a night - think we got $165?).

We used the Lighthouse Room (I think max 175ish) and the minimum was $30K for a Saturday (we got them down lower plus they offered a discount per person for our Friday night wedding so there's room for negotiation there).  For open bar all night, parking included for guests not staying at the hotel, delicious 3 course meal (pics in bio), cake from Montilio's, wedding coordinator (who was amazing!), HM suite for us the night of the wedding, and a host of other things I'm blanking on, it probably came out to around $200 per person.

You can read my review in my bio if you're interested, but honestly I have nothing but amazing things to say about the Seaport. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.  People still rave about how amazing our wedding was almost 3 years later now, and I know the Seaport staff has a lot to do with that.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at eeyore4771 at gmail dot com.

Depending on what night you have your wedding, it can be VERY expensive. Seaport was the first place I looked and for a Saturday evening wedding they have a 30K minimum. And though I found the Lighthouse room to be lovely, if I'm spending over 30K I better be able to have a complete Ocean View and not that of the World Trade Center with partial view of the Ocean. If you can afford it and love it then go for it! If you want a little more bang for your buck I suggest looking at Other places, possibly outside of Boston. Laughing  GL!

I loved the Seaport and if we could have cut our guest list down I would have immediatly signed on the line for the Lighthouse room.  I think it is average, maybe a little less, depending on where you are looking in the Boston area.  We are planning a Satuday evening event and I didn't think the hotel was realy expensive compared to other places we looked at.  The hotel is known to have great food and no hidden fees since it is per person and everything is included like people have already said.

    Good luck looking!
