Massachusetts-Boston

Boston photo help.

Hey Knotties,
I need your expertise. I’m looking for the best place to take photos in the Boston area. This can be wedding or engagement photos. Also, tell me why. Does the place have great lighting? Filled with nature? Modern buildings? What makes it unique to where you live and why would someone want to take wedding-related photos there? I’ll be using your Knot name, btw.
Thanks in advance!

Boston Public Garden is amazing. Between its winding paths, you'll find a variety trees, colorful flowers, and statuary. The lagoon is home to not only the Garden's famous swan paddleboats, but a pair of live swans named Romeo and Juliet. It's everything you need for a romantic afternoon.

We  took our engagement pictures at the Old North Bridge in Concord. It was absolutely beautiful, and there are so many different settings there and around the town. The bridge, water, historic buildings, and a small field. I love them!!

We love Acorn Street on Beacon Hill.  Very old school Boston and very historic.  It's basically a cobblestone road with brick row houses but is one of the most photographed streets in the World.  The color contrast between the red brick, the green vines and the gray cobblestones make for great pops of color and really lets the photographer play with their settings.

Another option is the Boston Public Library.  A beautiful building with amazing architecture.  I didn't think we would be able to take pictures in there without special permission, that wasn't the case.  Although it is important to know that you can't take pictures inside with a flash.  But the rooms make up for any inconvenience.

The christian science center has some really great older architecture. We had our engagment pics there and some of my favorite shots were in a door way there.

Christopher Columbus Park is beautiful in the summer.  They have an archway with wisteria, and a rose garden surrounded by lush grass.  Boston Harbor makes a gorgeous backdrop; the sunrise over the water is breathtaking.  It is also walking distance to Boston's historic North End and Quincy Market/Faneuil Hall Marketplace.  With buildings dating back to the 1600s, these charming neighborhoods are perfect for capturing nostalgic shots.

We took our engagement pictures at Spot Pond in Stoneham. If you are looking for a wooodsy/naturistic feel you really can't beat it. There are tons of spots where the rocks touch and the water and its just perfect. It's so quiest you actually forget that you are only 10 minutes outside of the city.

We took our engagement photos around Fenway Park and then headed inside for a private tour. There is nothing quite like the classic ballpark architecture and scenery. We had great photos by the field, in the stands and around the park. It helps that we are huge Boston Red Sox fans!

We took our pictures at our venue. There's a garden behind Mandarin that's co-owned by them and Prudential Center. It's great for photos because it's gorgeous in the summer and it's private.

We had our wedding photos taken at the Christian Science Center.  Between the long rows of archways, the modern fountain, the reflecting pool, and the amazing architecture, it offered so many different options for great clean & modern photos.

I agree with Johnnysbride, we had ours taken inside Fenway Park and it was incredible.  Getting the private tour and getting pics taken on the monster, the dugout, by Pesky's pole...anyone who is a huge Red Sox fan would love to have photos taken here.

I totally agree with Acorn Street. Its historic with the cobblestone roads and in the heart of Beacon Hill. Secluded and private but still with great lighting and ambiance.
