Did I put my foot in my mouth with my venue search?

So, I'm pairing down my venue list to top three, and I wanted to let them know that I was still very interested and would make the final decision within the next few weeks.  I recieved an email from one of the venues saying they were really happy I decided to choose them to have my wedding there.  I emailed back saying I still needed to meet with the priest to officially reserve the date and bring my FI for his final ok.  Her reply email still reflected wording that made me think that we were definately having the reception there.  I didn't sign a contract there, and I am seriously considering having the reception at the venue, but I'm not sure if I should say something to them?

Thanks!

My guess?  She's pressuring you to close the deal.  If you haven't signed anything or otherwise committed to the venue, you're fine.  Do what you need to do, and when you make a final decision, be very clear about it.

Calypso and Squir - it is so funny to see you over here! It is like seeing a teacher in a supermarket or something ;) I had to double check what board I was on.

But yeah, OP, you have no reason to worry about offending her if you decide not to book with that venue. You have not signed anything and no money has changed hands so she should noy realistically expect any commitment from you just yet.
