Cake... cost per slice?

I just set up a few tasting apps. with some bakeries but I have no idea how much the average cost per slice is.

We'll have buttercream frosting and minimal decorations.

What did everyone pay per slice?

TIA!

I believe buttercream frosting and a basic cake usually ranges $2 - $4 per slice.
Some cake websites actually list their prices :)

I paid $5 per slice.  We had 2 flavors (red velvet and tiramisu), and piped snowflakes for decorations.

One place I went to was at least $5/slice, that was without the delivery fee or any real decorations...really expensive for our budget.

The place we chose (Tripoli's in Lawrence) was ~$2.75 a slice, and it tasted better. So it varies :)

I've mostly seen about $5 or $5.25 per slice, once you factor in delivery charges (some quote lower but charge for delivery, others it is a flat fee)

My cake is 4 tier two flavor buttercream frosting and has a large fondant rose, it's supposed to feed around 150 and was alittle over $600

We just booked our cake baker and I think they are around $4 a slice.  D'Amici's in Lynn/Wakefield.

We did a tasting at Cakes4Occasions in Danvers as well and they charge $4.50-$6.50 depending on what you get.

Ugh I know! This is one of the reasons I didn't even want a cake. I am not a cake person and it just didn't seem worth the money...Mike won though!

I agree... plus factor in transportation / decorations.  That's why I was so psyched to find Tricia from Patty Cakes. I'm paying around $2.50 a slice for really delicious cake. She is up and coming! (http://www.pattycakespc.vpweb.com/)

I paid $3.50 a slice... this is where I cut a corner and got a pretty simple cake.  We had a small 2 tier fancy cake for the reception table and a large sheet cake in the back.

Konditor Meister has a base price of $3/slice and Montillios $4/slice.  I met with a few cake vendors in RI that had a base price of $7/slice.

We went with Konditor Meister, not because they were the least expensive, but because we legitimately liked the taste of their cake the best.  Because the base price was so cheaped we decided to do more decorative work than we had initially intended to do.  For 100 people, with delivery to Newport and all fo the rolled chocolate (like fondant) work we are doing, it comes to about $6/slice.

5.75 per slice, but I have heard upwards of 8.00 per slice. I think it really depends on the difficulty and the frosting type. Fondant is way more expensive than butter cream.

icing on the cake in newton is  amazing, even did a custom flavor at no extra charge.  they were 4.60 a slice.  they even give you a free top tier on your first anniversary so you dont have to eat one year old frozen cake!
    paula is amazing
