Does this seem weird........

I do not have a relationship with my mother and step-father (they will not be at wedding), and my biological father has passed.  I want to have both my brother and uncle to walk me down the aisle.  Does this seem weird?  Opinions please.  Smile  Thanks!!

I don't think its weird. It is your wedding and you should have people that you love and that are important to you walk you down the aisle.

It's YOUR day- if that's who you want walking you down, then do it! Who cares if it's a bit untraditional!

I'm having both my mom and dad walk me down, our minister said he had never seen it done before- but said it's my choice. :)

Not at all!!! My mom had my great uncle walk her down the aisle. My grandfather passed away when she was in her teens and my grandmother's sister and her husband helped my grandmother a lot with the kids since they had never had any. I considered him my grandfather too regardless of him being my great uncle by marriage.
You do what you feel is right, I'm having two MOH's because I don't want to hurt my two younger sisters.

Not at all! I think that's really touching.  You want the people closest to you on your big day, I don't think it matters who.

I think you have to do what feels right...IT"S YOUR DAY! My mom is not in my life and will not be invited to the wedding, but my father and maternal grandmother who raised me will both be walking me down the isle, and I wouldn't want it any other way.  Not every family is conventional...but that doesn't make it weird at all!  You're wedding should be a reflection of your life, your family, and what is most important to you- having the people who support and love you be the ones to walk you down the isle is really all that matters!

This is not weird to me or many of the above knotties. It might cause older generations to ask questions but I would not be intimidated by it at all. It is your day and should be just as you like it.

Thanks everyone!!  It's good to know a lot of people are in the same/similar boat as me.
By the way, just found out my stepfather has terminal cancer anyway.  :o(
