Reviews from my 10-2-10 Wedding

Reception: Four Points Sheraton, Tiffany Ballroom (Norwood MA) A+

H and I knew for a long time that we wanted to get married at the Tiffany Ballroom.  We have lived in Norwood our whole lives and have been to many functions there.  There aren't words to describe the service we received there, but I will try.  They cater to your every whim.  Any question, concern, thought that I had was answered quickly and accurately.  My coordinator was Mindy and she did an amazing job.  She was there every step of the way with us and that really helped since we obviously had no idea what we were doing.  All of our guests are still calling to tell us what an amazing time they had and how they couldn't believe they could make such a huge wedding (330+) run so smoothly.  The outside landscaping (where my siggy is from) is gorgeous and makes a beautiful backdrop.  They have a few different packages depending on what you are looking for and I also found some great vendors based on their recommendations.  I was treated like a princess on my wedding day and I loved every minute of it :)

Photographer: Keith Berry A+

I have known for a few years that I wanted to work with Keith for my wedding day.  He did a few friends of mine and their photos were always outstanding and he certainly did not disappoint me with mine.  Communication with Keith and his wife Katie (who also helps with the business) was fantastic.  Every email was answered quickly and any problems/concerns I had were addressed.  Photography was the most important aspect of the wedding to me and Keith really understood that.  All of my photos are gorgeous (they were uploaded this week) and I cant' wait to get my disc this weekend to start printing my photos.  If you'd like to see pics, just let me know and I'll email you the link.

Videography: Video Visions Forever A+ (pending video)

I got referred to Tim from Keith (photographer) last year.  Meeting with Tim was very easy, felt like you were hanging out with a friend.  His assistant Jen was phenomenal with emails and phone calls making sure that everything we needed/wanted we were getting.  The service was outstanding.  On the day of the wedding, Tim was very attentive in making sure that we were ok and that we just relaxed and enjoyed our reception.  I'll have another review once we receive the video.

DJ: The Event Connection, John Wells B

This I find really hard to grade.  We've been to a few weddings that John has done in the past and they have always been great.  Packed dance floors and happy guests.  This also was true of my wedding.  Everyone has been saying how much fun they had, how great the music was and how they danced more at our wedding then they had in years.  However, a few things went wrong that only myself and H would know, however they were huge things to me.

We had picked a last slow song (My Girl by the Temptations) and then a last fast song (Don't Stop Believing by Journey).  H and I were both excited to have these songs played to end our reception.  My Girl is my parents song and was important to have that noted when the song played,  However, John played both of these songs during the reception...even though we had talked the day before, reviewing our final list.  I was beyond pissed when they played.  H went up to talk to him and he said he would just play them again for the ending.  I hate when DJ's repeat songs at weddings, there are billions of songs, you don't need to repeat.  He didn't bother to check his playlist to make sure he wasn't going to play songs we had specifically picked out for the ending.  We had to come up with something at the last minute for the ending.  That ruined the whole end of the wedding for me.

He also didn't play half of the songs on our Must Play List.  Now we made our must play list short (10 songs) because we knew some would have requests and also to give John some leway with the vibe of the night.  He played 3 out of the 10, that also really upset me.  These songs were important to H and I and we had told him that as well.

Like I said, everyone had fun, everyone loved the music, but I personally was very disappointed in John.
