I'm planning a rehearsal dinner for about 25 people on a Saturday night. Are there any good inexpensive places to eat near the Prudential/Copley area??
For a differnet kind of thing - Fire & Ice is good - and not terribly expensive. They are on the corner of Boylston & Stuart Sts.
There's also a new restaurant in the 222 Berkley Building called Tico's. It's owned by celebrity chef Michael Schlow.
This is a tough area for inexpensive...but if you wanted to venture a little further away - some of the places in Fanueil Hall area are good. Union Oyster House, there are several Todd English restaurant's at Quincy Market.
There is also a Legal Seafood not to far from here either.
My personal favorites are Sonsie on Newbury and Brasserie Jo (that's connected to Colonnade Hotel). They both have private areas that would be good for an RD.
Maggiano's, Legal Seafood (there is one in the Copley Mall and one in the Prudential Center), Papa Razzi, Charley's are all good for groups and relatively inexpensive.
None of these place I think will be under 30 a person. It is a tough area to find an inexpensive place. I'm not to familar with the area so can't help much although I know it's pricey. Maybe look alittle further into boston.
My favorite restaurant in Back Bay/South End is Giacomos. They also have a location in the North End. It's a small intimate place, with amazing food that is, quite surprisingly, not very expensive. You could definitely eat for less than $30. One thing to know though... it's CASH ONLY. And you'll need to make a reservation well in advance.
Finale does not charge for use of a private room and has options for under $30/pp I believe. Check out their website. They are in the same complex as the Park Plaza hotel.
I would also recommend Maggiano's. My office does their holiday luncheon there every year and they have a good amount of private space and can easily accomodate large groups. Also - you could probably keep it under $30/pp there because for groups they have kind of a "family style" menu that you can order from in order to keep costs down. There's always plenty of food. Good luck!
We booked ours at Vlora and they are awesome. Our RD isnt until 4/29 but they had us in for a tour and tasting. The food was amazing and the fact they let us sample some food on the house I think is just awesome. I was recommened this place by someone else who had their RD there and loved it. Its a non-corporate husband and wife team. The private room is great and they are so accomodating and willing to tailor the menu to your needs. I am almost as excited about the RD as I am the wedding. Serioulsy - the food was amazing and its some of the best customer service I have ever had.
Its right in the Copley area on Boylston. If interested ask for Cindy she is the wife and her husband is the chef. All healthy Mediterranean cooking.
