DIY-Invitation Question

Hi,

I am planning on making my wedding invitations myself.  We are only having 80 people so I have a relatively small amount to make.  Can anyone reccomend an inexpensive stationary place in Boston, NH, or the Northshore to get envelopes and paper? I've tried all the craft stores and they are very limited in what they have! thanks!!

Re: DIY-Invitation Question

  • You might want to try Blick Art Supplies.  If I remember correctly they have envelopes and paper there.  There is a location by Fenway.
  • I made my invitiations on vistaprint.com. I was originally going to print my own but this was extremely cheap and way easier because they came printed. Vistaprint constantly has awesome deals.  We got 100 invites for less than $70. We made pocket invites with the invitation and 3 enclosure cards and the total for everything came to about $100, including postage.

  • Check in the Invites & Paper board, because I know people have recommended a good online stationary place, but I forget the name.

I printed my own invitations via a set I got at Michael's with a coupon it was super cheap.
  • I got most of my invite stuff either from Paper-Source (a few Boston locations, I went to the one on Boylston) and online from Cards and Pockets. C & P prices were better, overall, but at Paper-Source they were super helpful about a lot of stuff, plus it was easier to buy small quantities as needed. C & P has more color options though.
  • I  bought my paper online from PaperPresentation.com and it is SUCH good quality! I ordered samples from a few other places, but this seemed to be the best of the bunch. GL!

  • I did DIY with a little help by TextStyle in Middleton.  My planner referred me to her because she shows you how to create DIY invites but also she helped me find a lot of paper inexpensively.  Nice woman
  • I have to second Vistaprint.  I also did my invitations on there and just recieved them back and they are Beautiful.   We too are having only about 100 people, So for Invites, Mathcing envelopes, Rsvps and matching envelopes, Save the Dates and Place cards (all matching) everything was under $300.  Can't beat it!
  • my sister in law sell close to my heart which is scrapbooking...they have paper and such as a suggestion
  • i got my gate fold cards, cardstock and envelopes from Cards & Pockets.  They are based in MA, so while others might complain about shipping costs, it wasn't bad in MA.
