Any ideas for vendors or creative decorations for the Quincy Marriott???

Hello!

I'm getting married next June at the Quincy Marriott.  We're not very religious and have no connection to a local church so we're doing the ceremony and reception all at the same place - different rooms.  I'm a little nervous about not having the traditional church look for the ceremony and am looking for some good ideas on how to make the ballroom look bridal and not like business meeting without spending a fortune (the guest list is too large for their outdoor space).  Anyone have any good suggestions?  Or better yet been to a wedding ceremony there that had some great decor?

Thanks!

Re: Any ideas for vendors or creative decorations for the Quincy Marriott???

  • We went to a wedding there this summer and uplighting really changed the look and feel from just a typical hotel ballroom. The only downside was cocktail hour was in a shared hallway with other weddings.
  • Votive candles even the really nice LED ones, spread down the aisle, maybe different heights and things, with rose petals amongst them, really has a romantic bridal feel and looks beautiful. Also, two altar pieces or a decorated arch may also help!
  • I meant pillar candles, sorry!!
  • We're looking at the Quincy Marriott as well, and would LOVE ideas for decorating! It seems to be a prerequisite that every hotel in the Boston area have garish carpet... LOL. Suggestions would be most welcome!

I'm curious how uplighting changed the look? What effect did it have?

And - really? The cocktail hour was shared with another wedding party?? o.O
