help w/ ceremony location salem, ma

Hi ladies,

I am looking for a unique location to have my ceremony in Salem, MA. Does anyone know of anywhere different, pretty, etc? We do not want to have the ceremony in a Church or Temple (we are having an interfaith wedding) becuase we don't want to favor either religion. Something outside would be awsome. I thought I see if you girls knew of anywhere. Thanks for you help. :-)

Have a great long weekend!

There's a really pretty park in Salem that's associated with Hamilton Hall.  I think it may be a public park but I know two couples getting married there this year and you have to book it through Hamilton.  If it's raining, then you can have the ceremony inside at Hamilton Hall.  Also, I'm not sure if you want to reception there too, but I know that one couple is only having the ceremony there, so that's possible too.

You could also do something right on the common in the stone gazebo. I'm getting married at the Hawthorne Hotel (right on the common), and they have had some brides that have gotten married outside at the gazebo. You'll of course need to rent chairs, and get approval, but it's very pretty there!

I'm having my reception at the Hawthorne Hotel, which is really pretty.  There is also a beautiful site on the Salem/Peabody border, called Brooksby Farm, which is gorgeous, and if I wasn't Catholic and didn't have to get married in the church, I would have begged FI to get married there...it's a beautiful hall that's all natural wood with white lights strung everywhere.  Absolutely lovely.

LOVED Hawthorne hotel!  We looked there for our wedding, but found it to be too small for our wedding.

My fiance and I are having the ceremony AND reception at the House of The Seven Gables. The wedding and reception are taking place on their lawn overlooking the water. In Beverly, there is the Rose Garden at Lynch Park which you can rent the for the ceremony. The Commons in Salem is another option and the Hawthorne Hotel is directly across the street. If you are having a small wedding, you can get married on one of the tour boats like The Fame (a schooner) or the Hannah Glover. I have also seen people get married at The Peabody Essex Museum.

My fiance and I are getting married at the Old Town Hall. The upstairs in beautiful with lots of windows. Also the woman I have been talking to, Sarah, has been very helpful. Let me know if you want her contact info! I reached out to contact person, Natasha, at the Peabody Essex Museum but after an unanswered email and 3 unanswered phone messages I got a rude message in return saying that you can't rent a space for the ceremony only. When I called back to clarify I got no response so I took it as a bad sign and moved on!

Thanks girls! I am looking into the Salem Waterront Hotel. I love it there. I am also looking into the Peabody Marriott. I am from the area but just didn't know if you girls could come up with somewhere I couldn't think of. I LOVED the idea of the House of the Seven Gables but could only rent it for the full night. Not just to do a ceremony there. I understand but am bummed out. lll look into the other options. Thanks again.

I got married at the Hawthorn 11 years ago... still thought it was perfect. Good luck.
