DJ help

Hi.  I have seen many of the posts recommending some DJs.  But what I want to know is what is a typical price for a DJ for 6 hours in the Boston area?  Is $1500 for 5 hours average or expensive for the area?  I am doing all my planning from out of state so a little help on if the quotes Im getting are reasonable would help. Thanks!!

I think that anywhere from $1000-$2000 is reasonable, IMO.  My DJ is $2200 but they are known to be a bit more on the $ side than others (they are Nu Image).  I'd say $1,500 is 100% doable for a great DJ.  I'm sure many girls on here could actually recommend ones for even less than that.

Mine is around $2,100 (Victor from Party Time) but that includes some uplighting and monogram lighting etc. We were quoted between $1,500- $2,000. You can definitely find DJ's that under $1,000 and they come with good reviews too. It all depends on what you and FI are looking for.

We are paying $3000 for Peter from Nuimage. As mentioned before, they are known to be a little pricier. I heard great things about Greg Capozzi from C-Zone and I think his prices are much more reasonable. I also heard that Guy and Sean from Nuimage are great and I think they are a few hundred dollars less.

We're paying $800 for AllThatMusic in Fitchburg.  It's a no-frills agreement, because we can't have fancy lighting or anything like that (my MOH/sister has epilepsy).  But they were absolutely awesome and professional at the meetings and when we've talked to them.  I would highly recommend them.

Thanks so much.  That makes me feel alot better.  The $1500 quote was from Beattrain Productions, who seem to really fit our style.  I just didnt want to be overpaying and not realize it.  Thanks for all the recommendations also, I will look into them.  Thanks!!

Our Dj from Platinum Entertainment was $1000.00 with no added extras but, they do have lights and monogram to pick from if thats what you need. I did like the on-line planner they use for music and wedding details.  Good luck with your planning

Avid Entertainment (www.aviddjne.com) did a 6 hour wedding for $1,300 - that included a ceremony system and dance floor lighting.  They also offer uplighting and custom monograms, but they charge an additional fee for those extras.
