Just wondering if anyone had any advice for where to get a good deal on rings...nice ones!  Or maybe just diamonds????

What style are you looking for?  There are a few places having sales this weekend and throughout the month (I think Long's & Barmakian, and maybe some others).  Check for sales online.  Blue Nile has lots of sales.  And the Overstock.com jewelry store has some great deals too.  You can even get cool rings on etsy.

I got my diamond from a wholesaler in the diamond district in NYC.  He exclusively deals in antique cuts.  Mine predates 1920.  Then I had a jeweler in Boston make my e-ring setting and wedding band from scratch (I did some research online to figure out what I wanted and then did a whole bunch of drawings/sketches to bring him).  Since I bought my diamond & rings separately, and had them custom made, I didn't really get a "deal"--but to me they are priceless and I'd have paid 10X as much for them

FI's ring was expensive--but is also special.  He got it from an artist who allows you to customize the style based on a whole bunch of factors.

I highly suggest Serjeo in downtown crossing.  He is amazingly talented, makes everything custom and is unbelievably priced.  My fiance and I just bought our wedding bands from him (they're currently being made) and my fiance wishes he knew about Serjeo for my engagement ring. www.serjeo.com. He can make incredible pieces and work with your budget to find something perfect.

I don't know if they have this where you are from but we got ours at Ultra Diamond and I love my ring.

I second the recommendation for Serjeo. He made my engagement ring, and - I realize that I'm biased - but it's just beautiful. As a bonus, he worked within my fiance's budget and never tried to push him to spend more than he could afford.

Shavarsh in Worcester is going out of business, they are selling stock at cost! Got our wedding rings this weekend and saved at least $800!

Their stock rings are size 6.5, can be adjusted depending on the style. I think they are open 3 more weeks (maybe 4?) and then close for good.

It is where Fi got my engagement ring, which I LOVE! They are really fabulous, what a loss to see another family small business closing.

We will be getting our rings from Magnum Jewelers in St. Thomas....that's where my E-ring is from.  The jeweler will work within your budget, and send you pics of the rings before he sends them.  They are VERY reasonable.  FI paid about half of what he would have paid in the US.
