Getting my dress at Vows

I went to Vows today and fell in love with a dress! I have it on hold so that my mom can come see it with me on Saturday. Has anyone gotten their dress there? Did you also do alterations there? I will need to take this in from an 8 to about a 2 or a 4. Are their prices for alterations reasonable or is there another place you would recommend instead? Do they let you go elsewhere for alterations? They told me that the alterations will be about $350 maybe a little more; they are going to take the dress in, hem it, put in cups and do a bussle (at least thats what the sales associate and the manager said, not the seamstress).

Thanks ladies :-)

Well back in their old location (they just moved a couple months ago) they used Anahit across the street...not sure if they are still referring people to her, or if they now have their own alterations department.  When I got mine, you could bring it anywhere for alterations but I had Anahit do it because I had heard such good things about her.  She is fabulous, I totally recommend her.  She is on the pricey side though...I'd say I spent at least $350 if not more (and I didn't even need it hemmed!) but I thought it was totally worth it - would do it again in a heartbeat.  You can, however, find seamstresses who charge quite a bit less.  Anahit also custom-made my veil for a pretty reasonable price.

I got my dress at the Running of the Brides and was recommended to Anahit.  I've had 2 fittings, and although I think she's very expensive, I also trust her 100% to rip apart my gown.  She is AMAZING.  My alterations will total, like, $500-600, but when you get a $6,000 dress for $700, the price to make it perfect is worth it to me.  Could you find someone cheaper?  Sure.  Better?  I'm not so convinced.  But then again, I've not had my final fitting yet.  But what she's done so far is unbelievably amazing.
