Bridal Shower Venue in Somerville, Cambrdige, Arlington?

My MOH would like to host a bridal shower for 20-25 people in this area. She is from out of town, but most of my friends are in the Boston area. She asked me to help suggest some places I might like for my shower. My only idea was Upstairs on the Square, but a friend JUST did that and some of the guest list will overlap. Any other ideas? She is thinking a daytime luncheon/tea type set up. I am not sure of the budget, but I know she is interested in something elegant yet affordable. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. This would be in May/April. TIA!

For somerville, the only thing that comes to mind is Mount Auburn.  Not exactly elegant, but food is delicious and the prices are extremely reasonable. I went to a baby shower there and it was great.
For Arlington, you could suggest Vlora, but I'm not sure about their function space.  Is your MOH thinking of catering this or doing a restaurant? I can suggest halls in Arlington, but you'd need to bring in catering.

Thanks for the ideas! We would want it to be a place that could provide their own food. For the Finale shower, did they have a private room?

It's the Mount Vernon in Somerville, they do have yummy food and a back room, I looked into using this a few years ago for a baby shower, but ended up using a function space at my FMIL's work for free instead.

I would look into restaurants that serve brunch and see if they have a private room. Theres the S&S on Cambridge Street, Cambridge. Not sure if they just cater.

Hotels also might be able to accomodate.

    MMM  I <3 the S&S

Parking stinks but there's a brunch at Fire & Ice in Harvard Sq.  One of my cousins had hers there and everyone loved it.  They finished a private room not too long ago.  Her FIL's rented a shuttle bus to drive everyone in so nobody had to pay for parking.

I am not sure if it was the whole restaurant or just a back room, the pics were lovely though.

aug2013 that sounds perfect! FI and I celebrated at Finale right after we decided to move in together, so it would have that sentimental value as well. By any chance do you have any pics you could share? I really like this idea and the menu looks great.

How about Ristorante Olivio in Arlington? Their food is always good but I'm not sure how many people they can accomodate. There are many good restaurants in Arlington! In Medford, Bocellis has good food but it's not prettiest place. I like it because it's consistent. Good luck!

We went to an event at the Elephant Walk in Cambridge, recently. The downstairs has a small room that would easily fit 20. There is a separate bar and lounge area. It was private, food was delicious.

I think any irish pub for a morning shower on a weekend would be a great location. I also love Finale and I bet it would be a big hit!

Despite it's location, Brunello Bistro on Broadway in Somerville is really nice inside. The food is delish and they have their own parking lot. Brunello has been kicked around for my shower.
