chair covers

Hello! So I am stuck in a thought. I am crazy about how chair covers make a simple reception room look classy and elegant. I am having a 125 Sept wedding and debating if covers will be necessary. Any advice? My family says they are a night time thing.

Chair covers aren't necessary, but if you can fit them in your budget go for it.   They aren't just for evening weddings either. If you want them for a daytime wedding, have them. It's your wedding so you can have it however you want.

I think they make the room look more formal which is usually what a wedding is.

I assume you aren't having chiavari chairs? I like the look of those without the covers, but definitely do enjoy other kinds of chairs being covered up. If you can fit it in the budget then do it! I think they cost like $2-5 per chair though, so just keep that in mind!

I agree with the PP, chiavari chairs are the way to go I prefer them ten times more than the chair covers!

Chairs covers are great if you want to cover a less attractive chairs.. make a room look little more ellegant ... Or create a unique atmosphere...but careful sometimes they can make a room look cheap or dated... The thing that stinks is they are the very old looking chairs. The maroon old style damask leaf looking thing. I found some for about 2.39 each then the Sash are about 1 on eBay. I'd have to go there the night before to put them on chairs with my bridal party. .my venue offers them but at 6.95 a piece! Would be almost 850 that way but if I did it would be about 300

I am dying to rent Chiavari chairs but cant come to the conclusion to cough up 7 to 10 bucks a chair... thats nuts!

I think the venue you are having your wedding will dictate whether or not to include a chair cover or not.  If the room is ornate and/or visually appealing, I don't think chair covers would be necessary.  And if your wedding is outdoors - I definitely wouldn't add a chair cover. 

I agree with cmcnally4 - spending $7-10 per chair is a bit out there.  If you have that kind of money to spend: Go For It!  I personally think it's a lot to spend in comparison to other chairs, plus hopefully your guest will be spending way more time on the dance floor than sitting in their chair.

Think of it this way, chairs are the thing there are the absolute most of in the room. There is one for every butt, if not more. Money spent on upgrading chairs is hardly money wasted.
