My fiance and I visited the Metropolitan Building in Long Island CIty last weekend, and fell in love with the general space, but have some concerns. Anyone out there have experience with a wedding there?
The space is awesome, and we get a good feeling about Carlos and have read generally great reviews about service and food. Questions are:
1 - Parking is on-street. I have a feeling our parents won't love that idea. We'd prefer a covered garage for our out-of-towners - was this at all a problem?
2 - While the space is fantastic, some of the antique furniture looks dirty and stained. Are there better options for couches/chairs in their storage? Do they do a good job of cleaning the place before an event?
3 - They don't provide liquor. For a 175ish guest wedding, how much should we budget for?
Any advice would be awesome!
