Stupid movies

I watched this movie called Gigantic lastnight, and it was just weird and strange and awful. It sucked and made very little sense, and then just ended.

What are some truly stupid movies you have seen lately (if you disagree with anyone, please explain why said movie does not suck)?

Re: Stupid movies

• LOVE Momento!

SassyBrass, I forgot about Bride Wars! I was watching it the whole time thinking, "TK would have a field day with these brides!"

they might, MIGHT, be worse than brim.

• I really liked Funny People over all and thought most of it was really intelligent and funny, but I agree that whole part when they were at the chick's house was just a complete 180 from the rest of the movie and I was really starting to get frustrated with it. The movie would have been so much better without that part.

I was really disappointed with Four Christmases too. I just didn't think it was very funny at all.

• HELLO!?! How can no one say 10000 BC?!?! I laughed my ass off at the stupid shiit that was going on. Building pyramids in Egypt, with Neanderthals and wooly mammoths?!

Easily the worst movie ever.

Definitely! If the last part of the movie wasn't there, it would of been decent.
• "Building pyramids in Egypt, with Neanderthals and wooly mammoths?!"

Now THAT sounds like I'm something I'd watch!
Just kidding...unless I was really drunk.
• I second:

-Benjamin Button: Good movie, but just WAY.TOO.LONG. It had a good plot but it felt like they were stretching for time the ENTIRE movie. Great concept, and if they condensed it down to an hour and a half it probably would have been much more entertaining. Instead, it seemed pretty flat the whole time.
-Atonement: Also could have been a good movie, but total copout ending. I was pretty pissed off after having sat through the whole thing and really trying to get into it, and then THAT ending?? Lame.
-Angels and Demons: Great book, but the movie fuucked it all up and did it no justice.
-Paranormal Activity: People requested this movie in their theaters? Seriously?

My picks:
-Crank High Voltage
-The Final Destination (FD4)
-Cabin Fever (possibly the worst piece of crap I have ever seen)
-The Golden Compass
-The Mist
-Ginger Snaps

• I hated 500 Days of Summer so, so much. I honestly can't think of another movie I have ever hated so hard. It almost parallels my NPR hate. I thought it was so annoyingly "OMG we're so hipster and cool and emo" I wanted to stab my eyes out. And the ending made me wanted to throw up it was so cheesy.

The musical sequence was funny, but I violently hated the rest of it.

• OH! The Happening. Holy crap. FI and I laughed our way through that movie, and I lost any small amount of respect I may have had for Mark Wahlberg.
• Brie - my H didn't like it either, not as violently as you, but still. I think I just loved the actor and I identified with him because I've been in that situation before. I also liked how it jumped around throughout the 500 days, it was cool and different.

Amoro - I saw 10000B.C. but it was so long ago I can't remember what I thought of it!

• All About Steve. Jesus God I snuck booze into the theater, got drunk and STILL couldn't stand that movie.
• Other worst movie I've ever seen: PS I Love You.
FI and I had to turn it off we were both so annoyed and weirded out by it.

DH refused to see that movie and that was almost verbatim his reason.

This makes me laugh because even though I admit that movie was bad, okay I admit it, I liked it! I recommended it to my friend, with the acknowledgment that it wasn't great but I liked it a lot, and she has never let me live it down! I always say to my H, "but that could happen! You don't know!" Hahahaha.

The only part of The Happening that was great was when the guy lays down in front of the lawnmower. I kind of was to the point where I wanted to lay in front of a lawnmower when it happened so I found it relatable.

Good one! Worst acting ever. He was pathetic in that movie. For some reason I forgot he plays the father in The Lovely Bones.

Ditto on Final Destination 4.
• Dani, as long as you admit the movie is bad! I honestly think it was an interesting concept (kind of) but the way they went about it was all wrong. I think perhaps another director could have done more with it.

I have a friend who really likes it too, but she's a die hard Marky Mark fan.

don't salt. it's good!
• I liked Golden Compass too. I'm bummed that they're not making the rest of the trilogy.

I hated Rachel Getting Married. I hated the 500 million cultures that were shoved into the movie. "look how open and cool we are with other cultures and shiit. we don't know what we like, so we'll just throw everything in there." there were saris on the BMs, leis on the B&G, 500 instruments and singers and bands, a Buddhist monk, just AAAAAHHHHH!

• Salt, if nothing else, it's a polarizing movie. Everyone I've talked to either loves it or hates it. I seriously thought my best friend was going to cry when I told her I didn't like it.

• I really liked Memento (not sure if Momento is a different movie and I might be making an ass of myself, but oh well) and 300.

Also, as stupid as it is, the movie Cabin Fever gave me nightmares, literally. I'm still embarassed about that. While I was watching it I made fun of it and realized how terrible it was, but apparently it haunted me.

I also have a habit of liking really terrible movies, particularly if they're about large animals. For example, I own and LOVE Anaconda, Lake Placid, Deep Blue Sea, all 3 Jurassic Parks, and have been meaning to watch some atrocity called Rodentia for some time now.

Eye to Eye. You forgot Snakes on a Plane.
• Ehhhh I'll see if I can make it through, but everything Brie described about it is something I can't stand. :)

Oh I forgot another one. Bride Wars. It made me want to hurl myself off a bridge. I couldn't finish watching that one either.
I'm shocked when I hear/read people say they didn't like Atonement. I freaking loved that movie. It haunted me for days. I feel judgy towards people who didn't like it or get it. Sorry.
Posted by danieliza1127
THIS. I love atonement so much and it is just such a heartbreaking movie. It is honestly one of my favourite movies.
• Oh! This one will probably get me flamed, but Forrest Gump. WTF? I fell asleep in the theater, then almost cut my own eyeballs out with the sharp end of a feather when my sister begged me to watch it again on VHS. Shoot me. I cannot care about a habitual liar sitting on a park bench makingshit up about chocolates and whores named Jenny and being shot in the ass. I. Can. Not. Do. It.
• I'll also agree with The Happening. My thought was "really? That's it?" Lame.
Pssst Tlv: I liked 300 too. And as for movies with giant animals, have you seen Primeval? I haven't, but I want to, just because Lincoln from Prison Break stars in it. I have a feeling the movie is awful, but he's so pretty I doubt I'll mind.
• Bec, I love you even more. I HATE Forrest Gump. I actually left the apartment the last time it was on TV and FI turned it on. I think it's my most hated movie ever ever ever!
• I didn't know Forrest Gump was a liar. I thought he was just really cool.

Also, capri, somehow I have not ever seen Snakes on a Plane :( I know it doesn't fit with my other tastes, I just haven't gotten around to it.

Also, some movie about an oil company that moved really slowly and had no background music at all. Can't remember the name but it was really boring.

Also, No Country for Old Men. I couldn't stand that movie.

• I dunno about you people. I loved 500 days of summer, rachel getting married (i cried like such a goof atleast 3 times in this movie), and the happening. The happening is even BETTER if youve seen the SNL skit where he is talking to animals, because he talks to plants in the movie. I thought it was a great plot. The mist was also great - though I hated the ending, way better in the novella.
