It is so weird

to not be going to work this morning when Mr B and all my teacher friends are.

Re: It is so weird

  • Aww B. Taking the year off? Our teachers had to go back today but I still have a week and a half of freedom left :)
  • Yep, I'm home this year.  I'm so excited but at the same time, I feel a bit out of sorts.  I've never stayed home before and my brain is programmed to think it's time to be in pre-planning.

  • I remember the first year out of college when I didn't do any "back to school" shopping and it being really bizarre. I'm curious to see who didn't come back after the summer. I'm really hoping my coworker got a different job and we'll have a new person but I haven't seen the job advertised so I think I'm going to have to deal with her another year.
  • Teachers at my school go back Sept. 1st.  Kids don't start until Sept. 8.
Most of my teacher friends are going back already.  I'm getting anxious - sometimes I don't want summer to be over, other times (like now) I think I'll go out of my mind if I don't get into work soon!

  • I'm definitely enjoying the time off but yeah, I think I'm ready to go back to work (just not to drive an hour each way). I miss being around people and working with the kids.

  • Katie, you have an hour drive too?  Sucks, hu?

I leave my house pretty early (6am) and I can get to work in 60 min.  But coming home is about 90 min because of mid-day traffic.  Glad to know I'm not the only crazy commuter.

  • I definitely understand the feeling.  I have worked since I was 15.. so that isn't new.. but this is the first year I am not going back to school.. and I am 26!!

I keep feeling like I am suppose to be doing something right now.. I can't get over it...

As weird as it feels... you are going to see so many "firsts" as a stay-at-home mom!!
