Hey hey! Don't make me drink alone.

Re: Hey hey! Don't make me drink alone.

  • I'm a little nervous that the security guy is going to be here for 6 hours on Saturday installing the new system. I don't wanna be alone with a stranger in my house for 6 hours. Maybe I'll ask my mom to come up.

I'll probably enjoy the alone time, but I do sleep better with him there. I feel safer.
  • Congrats Ski!

Nothing terribly new with me. I've decided I'm going to go apply to college tomorrow on my lunch break (I only have one official copy of my GED, and Ontario refuses to send me more, even after I pay for them, so I need to go there and have them take a copy). THEN, Saturday I write my ACTs. I'm so flipping excited to start school.
  • I never took the ACT. Didn't need to and there was NO way I was taking a test I didn't need.
  • lol Any you and your candian lingo is cute. "Write my ACTs" . :P

  • Go Any!!  You can do it!!  Good for you!  Sorry you can't get more copies of your GED.

Rach - when is he movig out again?
  • Good luck, any. Glad you're getting all your college stuff sorted out.

Ranchers, that's great he's keeping the place clean. Hopefully it lasts.
  • I've always been good at standardized tests too.  I took the ACT and the SAT both twice.  Did better on both the second time too.
  • Congrats Ski!

Sesh my sleep gets so screwed up when H first gets homes and first leaves.  I've definitely woken up scared before right after he came home that there was a man in my bed.  Then I realize that oh wait, he belongs there.

I've had installers and stuff at my house alone, which I wasn't a fan of, but I always just make sure I let someone know when they get there and when they leave,  Whenever my friend and I have had people come to our house and we were alone we will text eachother the whole time, and if one of us doesn't answer a text within 10-15 minutes, we call.  No answer to that we drop everything and head over.

  • Yay for college and clean houses! Any, are you planning on going full time or working and going part-time?
  • Ew I freaking hated the SAT. I took it twice and did shitty both times, but still got into two good universities so that's good.

Me too. I did about the same on both tests.

I also took the GRE which was so much better because I could do it on the computer at my own pace. I hated sitting in the rooms with all the other people having to wait until time was done for each section.

Going full time, working part time. My work is pretty lenient, there's a couple of girls at my branch that go to school from 8-1:30, then work from 2-7 (working Saturday with one weekday off). That's pretty much my plan.
  • Petal, I hated that part too.  It sucked cause I always finished quickly and then had to sit there twiddling my thumbs until the time was up.
  • AND, posthoaring it up here, what would mix well with black cherry and vanilla vodka?
  • That's awesome Any.  It's good that your work can be lenient like that.
  • Any - Dr. Pepper for sure.  If not then sprite, or coke.  Sprite is a good mix since it just takes the flavor of anything in it.

That's a good idea. I just asked my mom but she can't come up due to a workshop but she can text throughout it so I'll just let her know. I might also have to deal with a tree guy coming over, but that one I'm happy for because it will mean finally getting rid of the massive pine tree leaning over our bedroom.

That's what I was thinking. I really want to try this stuff. It's Effen vodka. Lol. How can it not be good?
  • Thanks all, one boy and one girl baby.  Too much fun.

Sesh, stay safe and try to enjoy your time alone.  Tell me again where in PA he is from.  I am originally a PA girl myself.

Any, so cool for you!  Good luck!

  • Did I miss what you want to go to school for Any?

  • Any, that's what I do except opposite. I work 8-12 M/W/F/ and almost all day T/TH except for a lab Tuesday evening. It's not always great but you can do it.

<div>And you could say something like "oh my H should be home from work anytime."  They don't have to know he is OOT.  I never tell people H is deployed, I just say he's at work.  Technically it's the truth, but they don't need to know he won't be home for months.</div>

  • Ski, he's from the Mechanicsburg area.

    Biology!
  • Any - I was going to suggest Dr. Pepper too.

  • I'm probably a sucker, but I have no safety plan for strange workers in my house.  Well, I have my super friendly guard dog.  Thank goodness I've never had a problem.  *knocks wood*

Yeah, I'm kind of scared since I'll have to actually be organized and whatnot to pull this off, but we can't afford for me to not work, so I'ma have to.
  • Mica, I just don't trust people. There are maybe 2 people I trust whole-heartedly.

but, when I'm alone I typically have something within arm's reach to be used as a weapon if necessary. True story, when H slept over the first night there was a knife about 6 inches above his head that he knew nothing about. When I told him about it later, he thankfully thought it was funny, rather than crazy.
