Wedding Vows & Ceremony Discussions

How will you/did you decorate the ceremony space?

I am getting married in a church which is large with little decorations. I am trying to keep the cost of flowers down so I was thinking of bows or ribbons like this.

Any ideas, photos or suggestions from you girls? My colors are blue and purple...
A wedding is a party, not a performance. If at the end of the day you are married to the one you love, then everything went perfectly.

I think those are lovely, but when I see them I often wonder how much of a hassle it is for people to only be able to enter the pew from the other side.  Just something to think about.
We likely won't be doing much decorating in the church (it's a beautiful Catholic church and doesn't need much embellishment), save for maybe a few flower arrangements which we would also use at the reception.
  • I did think about  exiting pews for communion.... so I want to use bright ribbons like this and tie in bows. I just passed my two month mark and realized I have so much to plan still!!!
    Thanks

  • My colors are blue and purple too!!! We are getting married outside though, my florist is going to do Tulle much like the ribbon is in your pic, then shepards hooks with candles and flowers hanging in glass vases. Everything is rented from her and she is only charging me and additional $100.00.

  • We also had a fairly large, plain church. We did some bigger bows/ribbons on every other pew, and for the altar area, had very large flower arrangements. See below:

  • I'm DIY a doiley cone with a bit of tissue paper inside that will be holding a stem of baby's breath similar to below except with a big tule bow on top.
