Just wondering what other peoples opinions are on this.

I definitely wouldn't want to spend my first morning as husband and wife with some random person, especially after dealing with that the entire day before.

I don't understand the desire for so many pictures...boudiors, bridals, TTD, etc. I just don't get what you do with all the pictures. I'm not going to hang a picture of myself half-naked or by myself in my wedding dress around the house. A waste of money IMO.

We had so much to get done the day after that there's no way we could have done this even if we'd wanted to (which we wouldn't).

Kind of odd, IMO. I'm all for awesome photos and even 'artistic' ones. But just go do a hottie photo shoot later then. Just one more thing the wedding industry is trying to do to make a buck.

I'm sure I looked like a treasure troll the morning after the wedding. There's no way i'd want that documented.

Ummm, yuck. Fi teases me that I take too many pictures of things, but this is a big no from me. Plus, I'm planning to have a fab time at my wedding and to look like absolute hell the next day. Last thing I'll want is photos of me with with huge dark circles and crazy hair.

Ugh every single second does not need to be immortalized in photo. I know this makes me sound like a crotchety old man, but ever since digitial cameras and camera phones became the norm people spend waaayyy too much time taking photos of these moments rather than actually being present and experiencing them.

GAH! I certainly wouldn't. I think some things just cross a line. But if these people want photo's of this, whatever. It just seems a little cheesey and phoney to me.

Sounds like one more thing the wedding industry is trying to convince us to spend our money on.  

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for cute photos. Our photographer was a good friend of ours and she's incredibly talented and I love her work.  But I can't imagine a photographer in my face the morning after the wedding.   It sounds very "photo-shoot" y to to me...and I'm not a model, so I don't need a photo-shoot.

I was thinking of doing morning after photos....but not in THAT way!!! Our wedding is an afternoon/evening wedding - ceremony and reception at the same outdoor venue. Since my to-be-FIL is our photog, we were thinking of doing more photos of just to-be-H and myself so that we can spend a little less time after ceremony on pics, and just have more time to hang out and mingle with our friends and family.

But the type you have posted about? Ew.

I just came across this article on Jezebel earlier today.  I'm glad I found your post before posting it again. 

This is absolutely ridiculous IMO.  How do the couples that do this not realize that this is something that NO ONE else wants to see.  Seems pretty narcissistic to me.  It reminds me of some of the creepy naked and pregnant photos people take.  I was babysitting for this couple that had pictures IN THE FOYER, of the two of them, naked and posing together while she was pregnant.  You couldn't see the naughty bits other than some side boob but it struck me as far more weird than artsy.  One of them seriously looked like he was in the middle of giving it to her from behind.  eww. Not the first thing I want to see upon entering someone's home.  The kid is really going to appreciate this later when she has her first sleepover.  Same goes for weird post-nup pics.

There's no doubt that the wedding industry is trying to cash on the emotions, as like most other industries.

Definitely one should keep their budget in mind and maybe have photographs clicked that they can show to their grandchildren with pride.
