I have a NWR question because everyone here gives such great advice.
My FI and I have been talking about moving back to his home town (where I was also living where we met), it is about 3 hours or so from where we currently live. I found the perfect job opportunity for me out there as well. On the job opportunities page, it lists the HR contact person with her phone number and e-mail address. It also says to stop in and fill out an application. Living 3 hours away makes it just a little bit challenging to stop in to fill out a quick application.
Knowing the place I am applying, it would not be too unusual for them to receive a resume via e-mail. I don't have a planned trip to go there for over a month, and I want my resume in her hands asap.
So this brings me to my couple questions:
1.) Would you e-mail the resume or make the 6+hour drive round trip to fill out an application in person? Would you e-mail the resume and cover letter with or without the application?
2.) If you e-mailed the resume how would you address that you were doing it over e-mail due to distance but that moving wouldn't conflict with ability to start work (FI and I have our plan figured out and I am confident we could make it happen with a standard 2 week notice).
