From UK need help finding midtwon photo locations

Hi there everybody,

I'm a newbie on here so please forgive me if there is a  thread on this topic (although it its rather specific!)

I am from the UK and my fiancé and I are due to get married at the library hotel on Saturday the 28th August and follow with a reception at the private dining room at BLT Prime.

Susan Stripling is our photographer and I am just thinking about cool places we could go to take our bride and groom shots. I have visited the city three times and love the cobbles streets and architecture of Soho that offer a kookie backdrop to photos kinda like Micaela and Michael's Tribeca shots   http://becreativephotography.com/journal/page/3  but i just think its a bit far away really.

We have around two hours with Susan from 4:30 till 6:30, so i was wondering if there were any streets nearby Madison ave or Gramecy Park that could work?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

thanks, Cari

It's not quite in the area, but what about Grand Central?  You could get gorgeous photos there.

yes that flat iron building would be lovely - I also though about the meat packing district, that has the same edgy feel - we could take a cab - or hire a car to take us around.

thanks for your suggestions, ive seen some photos in grand central and they do look amazing!

If you only have two hours with your photographer, I hate to say this, but I don't think you should go to the meatpacking.  I don't know what day/time your wedding is, but you have to consider traffic.  It could take you anywhere from ten minutes to half an hour to get down there.  The Library Hotel is practically right next to the NY Public Library and Bryant Park, which always proves to show gorgeous photos.  I know Grand Central was already mentioned, but I wanted to throw my vote in for that location as well.  There's also the Tudor City area by 41st/42nd that could provide some of the backdrop elements you are looking for.  Good luck!
