Anyone here?

Re: Anyone here?

  • So now I need to go to the bank again tomorrow.  :(

Lynda -- could you stay on the couch until Chef D falls asleep, then sneak off to your bed?  Or does he wake up when you move?
  • Lynda is there any way he would just cuddle with you in bed?  If your H is sick anyways I would probably opt for the couch or spare bed, whichever is more comfortable.

he wakes when i move. Even if he didn't, he would eventually and bark to get into the bed,

Poor guy.   All he wants to go into the room with DH.  He is so sad being away from 'daddy'.

  • Hey, everyone.

We just got back from dinner with FI's parents. We went to their favorite Mexican restaurant, which is over an hour away. However, I think the Mexican restaurant that is ten minutes away is so much better, personally.

Also, they (once again) asked us about having children. This time, FMIL asked what names we have picked out (even though we're not planning on having them for awhile). Then, FFIL was making fun of my name choice for a boy (Ned). I was a bit annoyed. (I know it's a matter of personal preference, but he was kinda rude about it... but whatever).

Now, we're getting ready to go to a friend's house. Hope everyone has a good night. :)

Autumn is often extra clingy when one of us is sick.  It's kind of annoying when you don't feel well.
  • Lynda, can you put the crate in your room so at least he's in the same room as you guys?

Hello everyone!  We just got home from furniture shopping.  It was a long and grueling day, but we got everything but bedroom furniture ordered.  I'm SO relieved it's done.

Holy eff I must be getting really old because the only things i thought when reading that post are 1. I could never be in the car for an hour after eating Mexican, and 2. I wouldn't be going to a friends house after 2 hours of driving and dinner and its not 10pm.  Pathetic.

beach - not really. He has a habit of cuddling by my feet in the beginning then slow moves up to DH's stomach later in the night.  It's actually pretty funny and looks really uncomfortable.  DH is on his side and Chef is basically leaning into him in a sort-of standing position.

The couch is actually pretty comfortable.  I might just sleep here.  I would pick the spare room but I only have one set of sheets and I didn't wash them today.  My sil and bil slept there the last few nights and BIL is sick also.

I'm not sure I'm ready to put him in his crate.  Although I think it's time.  The last few times was 45+ minutes of barking.  Between DH being sick and living in an apartment, I'm sure today is the best time to do this

<div>Same here. FI's friends wanted us to come to a bonfire and I said hell no, I'm going home to put on my pjs. </div>
  • Beachy - I'm old with you.  It's 10:08 and I'm wondering if it's late enough that I can go to bed already :).
  • For the record I realize I'm creating a spoiled puppy.   From day one he has never liked being in his crate when we are at home.  Even in the same room.   We have had 45+ minutes of barking trying to get him to stay all night.  Unfortunately we live in an apartment complex.  That much barking does not go over well.

He is fine when we leave though. He hears the door lock and is fine.

I just told H that it's bed time.  He told me it's too early.  Great.  He's 5 years older than me but able to stay up later.
  • H can survive on very little sleep.  I get cranky though.
  • Yeah it's almost bed time for us too.
  • My parents went up to bed about 20 minutes ago and about 5 minutes ago I grabbed my laptop and came upstairs myself and am under the covers knotting away until I feel like actually going to sleep, which probably won't be too long from now.
  • Dude, it's only 9:15 here and I'm already totally ok with going to sleep.

I'm sorry, but the way you said this made me laugh because it sounds like a kid talking about their (parent imposed) bedtime.

But yeah, that's pretty  much me too.

I stayed up until like 3 AM last night with my H and BIL. I don't know what I was thinking because I was up with Fox at 7 and sort of napped this morning until 10.

We got....two couches, two chairs (one of them is my leather massage chair that I'm going to love forever and ever), a coffee table, two end tables, a sofa table, dining table, chairs, and a bench.

All we need is bedroom furniture, but that will wait for awhile, because my god we spent a ridiculous amount of money today. Furniture is expensive, yo.

Oh, and we got an AWESOME entryway "hat rack."  I think it's my favorite thing.  Besides the TV room couch.  The couches "name" is Sugarbear, and since we got two couches, I walked around that store for 3 hours saying things like "What do you think of this end table to go next to Sugarbear?"  I said it so much that I decided I'm going to introduce all our guests to the couch by name.

Yeah, Erin, everythign we have now is hand-me-down and in rough shape.  We've been making do with it until we bought the house so we didn't have to move it all.

We also bought a bed last weekend.  I'm so damn excited for that thing to come.

Holy crap, that's a ton of furniture!  Once I get a new place (whenever that may be, but I'm really hoping for sometime this summer), a trip to IKEA for some new shelving and storage units will be happening for sure.  My LR furniture is about 7.5 years old and the bedroom furniture is 6 years old, so I hopefully won't be in the market for either of those anytime soon.

Wow - that's quite a haul J&K.  Awesome that you got it all done today though.

I took the dog out and am knotting from bed now.  I needed some "me time".

It's a sleep number, right? I love our king size bed. I don't think we could go back to a queen.
  • When we buy a house in CO (after we rent for at least a year) I think our first furniture purchase will be a king size bed.  I can't wait to upgrade from a queen.  Cannot wait!!

Yup, and I'm SO EXCITED for it to be king sized.  The queen size is ok, but with the way H and I sleep, having the extra room is going to be aaaaaahhhhhmazing.

Edie, Sugarbear would be happy to meet you.  I feel like the hat rack might be a bit more standoffish.  I tried to find a picture of it, but it's brand new in the store and it's not on their website yet.

  • I'm most comfortable and sleep the best when H is working night shifts. :) Fox and I each get a side and we sleep completely diagonal in the bed. It would be awesome if I could just have a king size bed all to myself every night.

King sized bed is the only way, I've decided. I'll never go back.
