big oops

so I am pretty sure I may have forgotten to invite one of my dad's uncles to the wedding.  Our RSVP date is this friday. My dad asked if he had sent his in and so I just went through the list and saw that he wasn't on there.  I feel terrible.  I know we decided not to send him a save the date bc his wife had just passed away and it seemed tacky to mail him that a week after his wife died.
off to make a humble phone call!

Re: big oops

  • You could always wait until a few days after the deadline and call to ask where his RSVP is.  Say the invite got lost in the mail - it happens a lot

If it truly was a mistake, no need to make him feel slighted by saying you forgot about him.
  • In this case, I think the little white lie is the way to go.  Blame the USPO.  They've earned it. =-)

  • Yeah, place the blame on the USPO-- they'll never know and things will be smooth
