Name change/Junior high

Does/did anyone feel like they are back in junior high when you practice/d writing your new last name to figure out your new signature?

I almost made FI a cute notebook (he asked for a journal for christmas) with I love Mr. Jones all over it. Oh man I feel so silly.

  • I haven't practiced anything.  I'm pretty confident.

  • Honestly, yeah. I took me forever to get a pretty signature for my maiden name, it took a while to get my married name where I want it to be.
  • Yeah, I still hate my married signature.  The letters aren't as pretty :)  I have, however, finally stopped accidentally signing the wrong name on credit card receipts and such.

  • I haven't even thought about this. BUT---my last name will go from 11 letters to 9--and for some reason, I am thrilled about the 2 letter drop.

  • My FI makes fun of me all the time for signing his name weird.  "I thought you wanted that as part of your last name!  You'd better learn how to write it eventually."  For some reason every time I sign his name to something (because he asks me to, not because I'm shady like that LOL) I end up spelling his name wrong.  Maybe I should be practicing more....

I am totally with you on this. My last name goes from 9 letters to 5. I'm super excited on dropping all those frivolous letters lol.

  • My last name went from 10 to 6.  AND I don't have to tell people how to spell it anymore.  It's awesome!!!!  My signature now is actually legible.  I did practice it a little beforehand because I wanted to make sure my first name was legible as well.  My maiden name was a straight scribble.
  • My name is super long, and as a result my sig is kind of an illegible scribble. I'm actually thinking of keeping it the same... I'm not really writing anything anyway. It doesn't resemble any word at all.

  • My new last name is a bit of a pain. Wait, my old last name was a SERIOUS pain. But I could drop letters out of it and write it quickly. I suppose that will come with time with the new name, but I'm not comfy signing it yet.

  • I am still trying to figure out how to sign my last name nicely. It's a bland name, so it looks as though I am just printing it.

  • I have a really Irish first name, with a really Jewish married last name.
I think I confuse the hell out of people.

I like having a really 'differen't last name now though.
  • My new last name will have an apostrophe in it. My FI gets mad when people leave out the apostrophe so I have that to look forward to!
