I am having problems with my FMIL. My parents are paying for the wedding, which is going to be pretty big. In making the guest list, my FMIL is basically putting everyone and their brother on the guest list. She has said to me "I feel like I should invite 'Person X' which then means I have to invite 'Persons A, B, and C".
Now, I have a small family. My mom is one of four and we do not talk to my dad's side of the family. FMIL is one of 6 and FFIL is one of 7.
FMIL is very nice and understanding and I should be able to tell her that there's just too many people being invited, as I don't want my parents spending more than they have to for all the extra people they are inviting. How do I go about this as nice as possible?
ps- She also thinks that every single person gets a "Plus One".
