S/O of pixie post... Should I chop or grow?

I've had a pixie for about four years now, and I love it. I haven't cut my hair since October, partly to save money and partly to see what it would do. I've been going back and forth about chopping it off again before the wedding or keeping it longer, and I'm having trouble deciding (what?! me, being indecisive?!). I'd love input :)

Option 1: keep it longer and curly

Option 2: go back to pixie (forgive the shimmer, this was Halloween)

  • chop! i love the pixie on you. you're gorgeous anyway, but the pixie really sets you apart.
  • Aww.. I love the curls! Personally I like it the way it is, but with your face you could do either.

  • You are so pretty either way.  :)

Which style do you picture yourself on your wedding day, in your dress, surrounded by everything you have in your mind's eye?

  • I think the shorter cut makes your cheekbones more pronounced and makes your whole face look thinner.

  • I voted the pixie, but maybe that's because I have one too.

However, if the longer and curly is not too hard to style, then stay with it. I actually like both.

Mohawk. (I was the one with the better idea.)

But no I really like it both ways, but since it's summertime I'd say chop it. Damn you and all your looking pretty no matter what you do to your head.

  • I don't think your "long" cut is really all that long. Both are gorgeous, but I think the slightly longer one will give you more options come wedding time.

  • Isn't your dress sort of romantic and vintagey?  For that reason, I'd keep the longer curly style until after the wedding, then chop it off.  There are just more options for styles to go with your dress, IMO.  But, like everyone else said, you're so adorable, either way looks great!

  • Thanks for the kind words, ladies! Embarassed

Dani, that's a really good question. I'd always envisioned myself with my pixie, probably because I'd had it for so long. I think I'd do the same-ish style either way (tousled finger waves, kind of like what Amoro had going on.. She looked so pretty!). My dress is very feminine and froofy, so I always figured I'd go for the edgier, shorter haircut to balance it out. Hm....
  • I think I've already told you how much I LOVE the short cut on you. I'm still planning on plagarizing it as soon as I'm done with my wedding.

But that being said... I've been growing my relatively short hair out for the last year, just so I could have more options come wedding day.

So.... not sure how helpful I'll be here. But I did vote for the pixie cut. :)
  • I love both. I guess you should do whatever you want - in terms of how you want your hair to look in wedding pics years later. I think the curls look more "bridal" (although I'd totally go back to the pixie after the wedding!) but there's also a lot to be said for looking true to yourself on your wedding day. (Like not wearing an up-do if you NEVER wear an updo, not dropping 20 pounds if you aren't overweight, etc..)

  • I'd do pixie after the wedding.  You definitely have the face and bone structure for the pixie, pretty girl :)

mine loves the way my hair looks down, so I'm gonna have it down for the wedding.

I voted pixie. You are like the 1 in 3984320482 people who can pull it off.
  • I like the pixie.  And I like this game...it's totally like those polls in US Weekly or Life and Style.  Next two of you should buy the same dress and we can play "Who Wore it Better?"  :)

I've never really understood the desire to grown your hair out for your wedding day and chop it the next week. Don't you want to look like you on your wedding day? Is everyday-you not good enough for wedding-you? Sorry, major pet peeve.

Your pixie is awesome, and you look amazing with it. Rock the pixie.

The pixie looks absolutely gorgeous on you, and I'm loving the mohawk! Can I please be your friend?

The waves also look really funky. Hmm I don't know which I like best, but I'm sure you'll look fantastic.
