Kjb, you know that everything vet/pet related is expensive.  Grr.  Sorry that you're having to deal with this.    Also, sorry that your friends have such douchey husbands.  Ugh.  Men suck sometimes.  (Good husbands excepted in this broad generalization.)

I would rather be drinking wine with you guys than doing my upcoming chores.  Anyone want to pack for Fresno for me while I drink wine and supervise?

DNB, not a bad thought.  It's a huge project about a common disease that children may suffer from. I'm writting about sickle cell anemia. This is what I have to do before Saturday:

• Medical Research Paper - what is it, how do you get it, how does it impact the child, common treatments/procedures
• List 10 web resources for parents regarding illness - include a brief description
• List 10 web resources for children regarding illness- include a brief description
• List 10 books for parents regarding illness – brief summary/paragraph describing each book
• List 10 books for children regarding illness - brief summary/paragraph describing each book
• List support groups for children/families – include a brief description
• List 10 medical play activities that would educate children w/ goals for outcomes (for all ages – list which age which activity could be used for) – list supplies and directions and reference.
• Create a medical prep. book for a medical procedure they will encounter. (List age of child, supplies, and how it would be used – blood work, I.V., X-Ray, etc/ )
• List 10 sibling activities (for all age groups) – list age that activity is appropriate for and reference
• List 15 activities for parents to do to comfort the child when they cannot be there include reference
• List 10 stress reducing activities for children (before procedures, during procedures, and/or after procedure – for all types of coping, list how it will be used for what coping method)
• Create a Parent Handout for how illness/hospitalization impacts this age group, common things expected for this age, and how parents can support their child during illness/hospitalization – include reference
• Any other things that didn’t seem to fit in these categories but is related to topic.

I believe the term FML would apply here

Oh yeah, I am almost done paying off Beefy's surgery, then I have Word's spay, and hopefully Fatty doesn't need surgery.

Mica, you're good, Opal was in that thread.  It never got ugly at all, just annoying.  Pretty much like all posts that lecture us.

No, she is spayed.  I was listing things in order of what I have to pay off :)  She's been isolated from my crew since she's been here.

I"m off tomorrow too. I have so much cleaning/organizing to do tomorrow. I promised FI I would clean out our spare room and toss the mattress. He wants to organize all of the weights and exercise equipment we bought last weekend.

And I really just don't want to clean the room out, lol.

Mica-- I just notice you called Fresno the armpit of CA. I kind of giggled because one of my BMs moved out there last fall, after growing up here. Maybe because she has lived here in the midwest for so long she romanticizes it, but from the way she talks I would never guess it to be gross. Why is it the armpit, if you don't mind me asking? Lol

Hello, ladies!

And where have ALL the nighttime knotties been?  Its been dead around here the last couple of nights.

I just got back from a night in downtown detroit at a jazz club with some friends.  It was super fun, and I didn't have to drive.  So I had about 4 beers, and I'm a lightweight.  Oops.

Cliff Bell's for the Moth was EXACTLY what we did.  And there was some jazz before. It was awesome.  I can't recommend it highly enough.

Musical- I agree.  It's been super quiet.  And I'm not asking for drama, I just like chatting with the ladies around here. 

I'm a bit guilty myself, at least during the days, as I've been busy with my thesis (and its likely to get worse as soon as my advisor actually reads it).

Bree - are you from Detroit?  Otherwise, why do you spend time here?

I know a few E's are in school, studying for finals and such? I had mine last week for the most part.

I've either got a bug or allergies that feel like the flu, it sucks. Stuff head, sore throat, fever. Fi's got something too, he's been sleeping in the living room because he coughs all night  

My bridesmaids really don't match and I'm not sure how I feel about it. They both really like their dresses and each suits their personality, but I kinda wonder if people will be like wtf?

Yeah dramaz is not what I'm lookin for either. I am a busy studying for finals and now J is home for the weekend so that will keep me even more busy. But I got excited today because I found out we are almost for sure visiting family in Nashville this summer, which will be a ton of fun!

Bree - that's really cool.  I had no idea you had Michigan connections.  I find that most people write Michigan (and specifically Detroit) off, and then I go to really cool events like The Moth, and I get really proud of my home state (even though I'm actually moving to Illinois in a few months).
