My fiance is really excited about our wedding but has one request: have a "private ceremony". We are inviting 250 - 300 but he wants a smaller wedding (family and close friends) followed by the reception. My first question is if this seems rude to anyone and how would we go about this? I don't think the parents are too fond of the idea and I'm more concerned about how our guests would feel. I know a lot of people would probably only go to the reception because there's a few hours in between the ceremony and the reception, but I don't want people to feel left out. My second question is that if we did have a smaller cermony, how would I get that one-on-one with everyone that we would normally have while everyone is ushered out of the church?
