Drunk at your Wedding?

So I've been watching Bridezilla ( I found it on my DVR)and one bride got really drunk at her wedding and was in the bathroom the whole night sick. She was all stressed out about her groom getting drunk and then she's trashed in the first hour! Sooooo it got me thinking how much did you/will you drink at your wedding? I was in a wedding not too long ago where the groom was trashed before the ceremony even started....classy :X

Re: Drunk at your Wedding?

• I went to a wedding a few years ago where the bride got so trashed she decided to go swimming. So, in the pool she went, wedding dress & all!!!! About 2 seconds later the groom was in with her & most of the wedding party... Who does that??!??!! They were all very drunk & then started pushing & throwing other people in the pool (including their parents friends)! I'm not a goody-two-shoes at all but there is a time & a place to be wild & drunk & a wedding is not one of them. Not even if it's your own. Nothing tackier than a drunk bride. That said, I may have 1 glass of wine 2 @ the most. I want to enjoy our day & not spend the first day of our honeymoon hungover.

• I think a drunk bride/groom is the tackiest thing ever. Nothing's classier than a pic of the bride with glazed eyes and a drink her hand. But then again, I've never been much of a drinker so I don't really get the whole "needing a drink thing". We're having a picnic style Sunday afternoon wedding...serving lemonade, tea, water, soda. Saves us money on alcohol and assures my guests won't have to worry about who's driving home. I believe 100% that you can celebrate w/o drinking.
• Me and Jayme, My fiance, have decided to have 2 drinks. My favorite, Cosmopolitan, his favorite Jack and Coke, Plus Champagne at my mothers request, and some kind of beer. We arent having a wide variety of liquor or beer or wine, actually no wine at all. We wanted to keep it simple and personalize it. I plan on drinking but at the reception, and not enough where i am falling over and slurring my words.I was at a hotel recently and there was a bride and her groom and her bridesmaids and they were waiting for the elevator, and she was beyond wasted. she kept bending over talking some kids, and she was falling out of her dress and kept falling over and laughing and being extremely loud. Her groom looked so embarrased and had to basically pull her into the elevator. I dont want to be that bride.
• I saw that one! It was awesome. She is such a horrible hostess.I am only going to sip my bubbly and maybe have one of my own signature drinks.I think it is important for everyone to watch everybody's back.

• dude! i saw that one and how terrible to not be able to celebrate your new marriage! i'm simply going to sip on Saracco. it's a dessert wine that we are going to toast with. it's yummy!<3
• not planning on drinking very much at all, I hate champagne but am going to be gracious and drink it for the toast, other than that we're having an open bar but I plan on just drinking water because honestly I like water more than just about anything else.
• I'm hoping to not be one of those tacky brides, but I don't plan on monitoring my alcohol intake at all - at the reception. We have a deal of no alcohol before the ceremony. That said, this is my second go round, and at my first I didn't have time to drink, left loads of drinks with one or two sips gone. Between talking with guests, dancing, eating, etc. there just wasn't time to down the beverages. So I'm not to worried I will be a tacky bride, if it happens lets hope its late in the evening - our event is going until 1 a.m.
• My dad got so drunk at my parents' wedding that he actually dove into the shallow end of the pool, split his head open and had to spend the night in emergency. Needless to say, I will not be following in my father's footsteps!
