invitation help

I was just looking at invitations and a question came to mind.  I will be having an outdoor ceremony (weather permitting) in June the reception will be indoors at the same location.  I will be having fan programs to help people stay cool. I want to make sure people know so they can wear sunscreen or anything else in case it is hot.  Anyways I was wondering if should put that it is outdoors in the invitations of should I just put it on the website?

I'm not sure, but as a guest, I would want to know in advance that it is outside

I put something about taking precautions for the weather in my accommodations/directions insert in the invite and also on the web site.

i.e. I said "the reception and ceremony venues are both indoors and air-conditioned, but august is brutally hot in DC, so dress appropriately!"

How long is your ceremony going to be?  Ours was about 15 min.  People were fine outside in June for 15 min, even with waiting for it to start.    If it's over an hour, then I'd let ppl know, but do it by word of mouth or on the website.

Thanks ac. That would be a good place to put it, I just thought it would sound funny on the actual invitation but it would be fine in another insert.

I think the insert is fine, but also, does your outdoor location have a name? Like the xx courtyard? You could put the name on the actual invitation and courtyard to me means that it will be outdoors. You could go into more detail on the insert then. It's awesome to see you caring about your guests' comfort

Our ceremony is only going to probably be around 15 min too so even if they get there early and have to sit around they won't be in the sun for very long. I have very fairskin and I would probably burn so I just want to make sure if they are like me to put on some sunscreen

Well we are getting married at a golf club the reception will be inside and the ceremony will outside at the gazebo so i guess i could say that the ceremony will be at the gazebo. Does that sound good?

just say Ceremony in the gardens/on the beach/ on the lawn ofvenueReception immediatly to follow in the ballroom/dinner room of venue
