Do the readers go to the rehearsal?

So it's a standard church wedding, and I know the wedding party shows up for the rehearsal. Do the readers need to also?Thanks...I'll stop being a post_whore now...

Re: Do the readers go to the rehearsal?

  • yes.. they normally practice the reading.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • We are inviting our readers... they are going to be at the church rehearsal, so we are inviting them to the meal after. Talk to the pastor/priest. Ours wanted our readers there.

  • OK, thanks!  My brother is reading and he just e-mailed me to ask what he needed to do friday and I had no idea what to answer him.
  • Yes.  Unless they belong to your church and frequently read there, they'll need to know where to go, when to go up there, whether they can adjust the mic, whether the reading will be up there for them, whatever.
  • Yes they need to rehearse more then the wp does
  • Yes, they need to practice. We typed the reading in big print and put it inside the book to make it easier to read. No one knew they weren't reading from the actual pages of the book and it made it easier especially under the pressure of reading in front of everyone.
  • Readers definitely need to practice.  That was the best thing we did at the rehearsal.
