bparty guest list?

I apologize in advance if this is common sense. My sister asked who I wanted to invite to my Bachelorette party. I have friends from work who I am not planning on inviting to the wedding who I still would like to come to the party. Is it rude to ask people to the bach party if they are not invited to the wedding?

  • Yes.  Only invite people that are invited to the wedding.

  • General wisdom says yes, but I invited some of MY friends to my sis' bachelorette party - they were chicks who knew my sis and with whom my sis would like to party, but who weren't close enough her to get invited to the wedding. It was more than fine; they totally understood. This is a little different, though, because these are people you know, not friends of others. If you really want them there, and this isn't a gift-giving-oriented party, you could talk about the bach party at work and then say, "Hey, would you want to come?" and leave it up to them. I imagine if it's close to your bach party they know they're not invited to the wedding.
  • I'd say know, but that's something I'm a big stickler on. If they're good friends at work, my guess is they'll probably plan to do something for you on their own. But if they were invited to a part, it's impolite that they not be invited to the wedding.

  • Yes it is rude to invite anyone to a prewedding party that is not invited to the wedding. Also unless these are really close friends as well as coworkers (in which case they would be going to the weding anyway) then most bachlorettes are not coworker appropriate as you should remain moderatly sober and in control and proffessional around coworkers
